The Baltic states consist of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, located in Northern Europe along the eastern shores of the Baltic Sea. These countries have a combined population of around 6 million people and share cultural and historical ties as former Soviet republics that have transitioned to modern market economies and are now members of both NATO and the European Union. The Baltic states offer beautiful coastlines, historic old towns, and a mix of Scandinavian and Russian influences in their cultures.
