The story follows orphaned Sylvia and her nurse who are left to care for three baby girls - Pauline, Petrova, and Posy - by Gum, Sylvia's uncle. When Gum fails to return from his travels and money becomes scarce, Sylvia enrolls the girls in a performing arts school to earn money through their talents. As Sylvia's health worsens, it becomes critical for the girls to succeed and earn enough money to support themselves without having to sell Gum's beloved house.

2. The beginning...
Gum is an old man who travells the world
collecting fossils; the last thing he needs under
his roof, is a young orphaned neice and her
nurse.
Over the years the girl Sylvia, grows to love Gum
and his fossils, but she is not prepared when
Gum arrives home from his travels with three
babies and a pair of ballet shoes.

3. While Gum continues to travel the world, he
leaves the three babies, Pauline, Petrova and
Posy Fossil, at home with Sylvia and her nurse.
Money becomes scarce as Gum fails to return.
Sylvia tries her best to cope, but soon cannot
afford to keep the girls in school.

4. Reluctedly Sylvia, whose health is failing, enrolls
the girls in a performing arts school, where they
learn to perform in exchange for some of their
earning.
With Sylvia’s health worsening, it becomes critical
for them to earn money. Will their talents be
enough? will Gum ever return? or will they have to
sell his beloved house to pay the bills?
