Chief Justice John Roberts has appointed James Duff as the new director of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. Duff has over 30 years of experience in Washington D.C., including legislative work and management experience. He will be responsible for managing the Administrative Office staff of 900 employees and providing support to the federal courts. Roberts noted that Duff is uniquely qualified to lead the office. Duff previously served as an assistant to Chief Justices Warren Burger and William Rehnquist.
