1. A Renowned Attorney: A Short Biography of Jay Sekulow
Jay Sekulow A renowned attorney, he was born in Brooklyn, New York. He was
raised Jewish, but converted to Christianity in college and now considers himself a
messianic Jew.
Education and Early Career
Jay Sekulow graduated cum laude and went on to earn a doctor of jurisprudence
from Mercer Law School, where he graduated from among the top 5 percent of his
class. He also served as an editorial staff member of the Mercer Law Review while
he is still a student at Mercer. Later he acquired his Ph.D from Regent University,
authoring his dissertation on American Legal History.
After he graduated from law school, Mr. Sekulow started his renowned legal career
as a trial tax attorney for the Office of the Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue
Services (IRS) where he stand for the United Sates Department of Treasury in tax
cases before the US Tax Court. After working with the IRS, Mr. Sekulow begin his
private practice, building one of the fastest-growing law firms in Atlanta, Georgia.
In 1986, he became the General Legal Counsel for Jews for Jesus before he bring
into existence the Christian Advocates Serving Evangelism (C.A.S.E). Still serving
as Chief Counsel, he joined ACLJ in 1990.
Awards and Accomplishments
Throughout his career, Jay Sekulow has been honored several times. He was
included to the National Law Journal’s Power List in 1994 that highlights a number
of the most prolific attorneys in America. In 1997, he was identified by the
American Lawyer’s Public Sector 45 as one of the most dedicated legal public
servants who have made the most impact in their corresponding fields. The
National Law Journal put him in their highly coveted 100 Most Influential
Lawyers in America list and most recently, Legal Times marked him as one of the
90 Greatest Washington Lawyers of the last thirty year, solidifying his place as one
of the most distinguished legal professionals in the United States these days.

(ACLJ), is an accomplished Supreme Court advocate, renowned professional on
religious liberty, and a revered broadcaster. He has been married to Pamela since
1978 and has 2 adult sons, Jordan who is an attorney with the ACLJ and Director
of International Operations conjointly co-hosts the radio and tv programming
together with his father and Logan oversees the ACLJ’s multi-media operations.
