Pada bagian ini akan membahas tentang
apa itu bahasa, tahap perkembangan
bahasa, dan faktor – faktor Yang
mempengaruhi perkembangan bahasa.
4. Bahasa?
Beberapa bentuk bahasa yang digunakan sehari-hari adalah,
bahasa lisan, bahasa tulisan, bahasa tubuh atau isyarat.
Perkembangan bahasa terkait dengan perkembangan
kognitif, yang berarti faktor intelek/kognisi sangat
berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan
kemampuan berbahasa.
Bahasa (language) merupakan sebarang bentuk
komunikasi diantara orang-orang, baik yang bersifat
verbal atau pun gerak isyarat dan sikap, penggunaan
lambang-lambang dalam komunikasi
(kamus umum psikologi).

Perkembangan Bahasa
• Tahap pralinguistik atau meraba (0,3-1,0 tahun)
• Tahap holofrastik atau kalimat satu kata (1,0-1,8 tahun)
• Tahap kalimat dua kata (1,6-2,0 tahun)
• Tahap pengembangan tata bahasa awal (2,0-5,0 tahun)
• Tahap pengembangan tata bahasa lanjutan (5,0-10,0 tahun)
• Tahap kompetensi lengkap (11,0 tahun-dewasa)
Tahapan Perkembangan Bahasa Secara umum, perkembangan
keterampilan berbahasa pada individu dapat dibagi kedalam empat
komponen, yaitu: 1. Fonologi 2. Semantik 3. Tata Bahasa 4. Prakmatik
tahapan perkembangan bahasa dapat dibedakan ke dalam tahap-tahap
berikut ini:

proses perkembangan bahasa, hubungan
perkembangan bahasa, hambatan dan upaya
yang ada dalam proses perkembangan
bahasa.
8. Perbedaan Individual dalam Kemampuan
dan Perkembangan Bahasa
Menurut Chomsky (Woolfolk, dkk. 1984) anak dilahirkan ke dunia telah
memiliki kapasitas berbahasa. Akan tetapi seperti dalam bidang yang
lain, faktor lingkungan akan mengambil peranan yang cukup menonjol,
mempengaruhi perkembangan bahasa anak tersebut. Mereka belajar
makna kata dan bahasa sesuai dengan apa yang mereka dengar, lihat
dan mereka hayati dalam hidupnya sehari-hari. Perkembangan bahasa
anak terbentuk oleh lingkungan yang berbeda-beda.
