Sodexo, a food and facilities management company, was seeing an unacceptably high accident rate among its UK and Ireland employees. It hired Ashford Tailored Training to develop health and safety training materials to address this. Ashford created short booklets with images and minimal text covering common accident causes like slips, trips, falls and manual handling. These booklets have resulted in a significant drop in accidents and financial savings for Sodexo.
Harvey Nichols
Luxury retailer Harvey Nichols asked a training company to develop new materials to train their Sales Advisors on customer service and selling techniques. The training company created a magazine called "Beyond Expectations" that looks like a fashion magazine and contains activities and articles on fashion history and designers. They also produce seasonal supplements and are developing a board game to accompany the face-to-face training. The goal is to create an interesting way to train and communicate with Sales Advisors.
Wickes & PaH
AshfordTailoredTraining helped Wickes, a home improvement business, reduce the cost of training materials for their Master Programme Level 1 training. They changed the format of the materials from loose-leaf binders to spiral-bound books, reducing the unit cost per book from £15 to £9 and saving thousands across 1000 books. AshfordTailoredTraining also helped another client, Pets at Home, reduce training costs by developing innovative and cost-effective training solutions like a customer service board game and employee handbook.
Co-op
All employees at Co-op Funeralcare complete vocational training to learn the key competencies of their jobs. This includes developing behaviors that demonstrate dignity and understanding in an emotionally charged environment. AshfordTailoredTraining worked with Co-op Funeralcare to update their training materials to better align with the competencies required for each role and ensure all relevant assessment criteria are covered. The updated workbooks and assessments will help employees fully learn the skills and knowledge needed for their jobs in caring for customers during a difficult time.
Travis Perkins Induction Case Study
Travis Perkins, a leading UK supplier of building materials, acquired several companies and needed to create a unified induction program. Ashford Tailored Training was tasked with developing manuals that provided both generic group information as well as company-specific content for each subsidiary. ATT created A5-sized booklets with clear writing, graphics, and color photos that covered who the companies are, what they do, their products, and how they operate. The Wickes manual became the template for manuals tailored for each company's needs. To date, manuals have been completed for Wickes, Tile Giant, Benchmarx, and CCF and are being successfully used by employees.
Coop Retail Logistics Case Study
CRL's existing induction program lacked structure and useful information, leading to inconsistencies. ATT identified the shortfalls and developed new interactive modules with Learning Development Officers, including sessions, games, videos, training, and a workbook. The successful program will be translated to other languages and provides consistent training across CRL's 18 distribution centers.
Pets At Home Managers Guide Case Study
Ashford Tailored Training (ATT) created a Manager's Practical Guide to Training Materials for Pets at Home to provide an overview of the range of training titles available to managers and employees. The guide describes Pets at Home's career path, lists and describes the available training resources, explains the manager's role in running training programs, and the impact of training on the business. ATT copy-edited, designed, and desktop published the guide in an A5 booklet format with a glossy cover and black and white pages. Pets at Home managers are using the guide successfully to understand the training support available.

Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).
