• According to International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Body of Knowledge
(BOK): A business analyst works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze,
communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and
information systems. The business analyst understands business problems and opportunities
in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to
achieve its goals."
• There are some of the Qualities of Business:
– Honesty and Integrity. It is really important to be honest and maintain integrity in all your
communication.
– Communication Skills. A business analyst has to have excellent communication skills. He
should not mislead the people by using inappropriate words. As a Business Analyst, you
spend most of your time with the direct and indirect stakeholders of the project.
– Fairness and Commitment. You should be fundamentally fair and committed to the
organization which you are working for. On the other hand, you should be well aware about
the laws and legal procedures regarding your role.
– Analytical Skills. You should be ready to take up any challenge posted by the client.
– Managerial Skills. You should possess the strong managerial skills.
– Negotiation skills. As a business Analyst, you should be open to negotiate with the direct
and indirect stakeholders.
– Renovate. By renovate, it means you should never be outdated from the market. You
should be open to take up any responsibility whether it is Functional, Analytical or Business
related.
