The document analyzes soil and vegetation samples collected from busy motor parks in Delta State, Nigeria to investigate the potential environmental impact. Physicochemical analysis found soil pH ranged from slightly acidic to alkaline. Electrical conductivity values indicated high levels of soluble salts. Total organic carbon and nitrogen could be attributed to biodegradable materials. Heavy metal analysis found mean concentrations of iron, lead, copper, zinc and chromium in soil samples, with iron having the highest abundance. Heavy metal levels in vegetation samples ranged lower than in soils. Soil-plant transfer coefficients indicated medium metal accumulation, while contamination indices showed very slight contamination. Overall, heavy metal levels were relatively higher than control sites, showing evidence of enrichment that could accumulate over time.
