Introduction of cloud computing
 Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services including servers,
storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence over
the internet, providing faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies
of scale
 Cloud computing eliminates the need for on-premise hardware and
software, as computing resources are provided as a service over the
internet, allowing users to access and use them from anywhere with an
internet connection.
 Cloud computing has many benefits, including cost savings, scalability,
flexibility, and increased security. With cloud computing, businesses can
reduce capital expenses on hardware and software, and only pay for the
resources they use
What is cloud computing
 Cloud computing is the delivery of on-demand computing resources,
including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and
intelligence, over the internet.
 This means that computing resources can be accessed and used from
anywhere with an internet connection.
 n SaaS, users can access software applications over the internet, without
the need for installing and managing the software on their own devices.
 Cloud computing has several benefits, including cost savings, scalability,
flexibility, and increased security.
Cloud service models
 There are two primary cloud service models:
 Software as a Service (SaaS): In this model, software applications are
delivered over the internet as a service. The software is hosted by a third-
party provider and can be accessed by users through a web browser or
mobile app
 Platform as a Service (PaaS): In this model, a cloud provider offers a
platform for developers to build, test, and deploy their applications. PaaS
provides a complete development and deployment environment, including
programming languages, libraries, and tools, without the need for
developers to manage the underlying infrastructure
Cloud Deployment5 models
 There are three primary cloud deployment models:-
 Public Cloud: In this model, computing resources are provided by a third-
party cloud provider and made available to the public over the internet.
 Private Cloud: In this model, computing resources are used exclusively by a
single organization or business. The infrastructure can be hosted either on-
premise or by a third-party provide.
 Community Cloud: In this model, computing resources are shared among
organizations with similar needs, such as government agencies or
healthcare providers.
AWS Careers
 AWS (Amazon Web Services) is a cloud computing platform that offers a
wide range of services to customers around the world
 Cloud Solutions Architect: A solutions architect is responsible for designing
and implementing cloud-based solutions for AWS customers
 Cloud Developer: A cloud developer designs and develops applications for
AWS cloud environments.
 Cloud DevOps Engineer: A DevOps engineer is responsible for the
continuous integration and delivery of applications in the cloud.
 Cloud Security Engineer: A security engineer is responsible for ensuring
the security and compliance of AWS cloud environments.
AWS infrastructure
 Regions: AWS has 25 regions around the world, each consisting of multiple
availability zones
 Availability Zones: Availability zones are data centers within a region that
are isolated from each other, providing redundancy and fault tolerance
 Edge Locations: Edge locations are points of presence that are used to
cache content and deliver it to end users.
 Networking: AWS provides a variety of networking services, including
Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Direct Connect, and Elastic Load Balancing
(ELB).
