6. ProjectProject
Solar thermal vapour absorption refrigeration system using
phase changing material
Currently working on this project in a group of 3 students.
Use of NH3-H2O as refrigerant-absorbent pair.
Weak solution of ammonia which is coming out of separator will absorb ammonia
vapour coming from the evaporator.
This strong solution is pumped to
flat plate collector.
PCM will help to maintain the
constant temperature.
Separator will separate the vapour
of ammonia from the solution
This ammonia vapour is proceeded
further for providing refrigeration
effect.

14. Need analysisNeed analysis
Jute bags are used to fill areca
nuts, rice or cow feeds
Jute bags need to be held open
and straight.
Small scale farmers don't go
for automatic filling machines
instead they do it manually.
This can be a frustrating job to
hold it open for a longer duration
time and a waste of man power
as well.
Dust is also another factor to
be considered.
15.
Data gathered in need analysis
Holder should be capable of adjusting to different heights of the bag
Since the diameters vary from bag to bag , holder should be of use for different
diameters of the bag.
It should be cost effective; that is, it should not cost more than labour cost if he is
assigned to hold the bag.
It should be easy to handle.

All the concepts are analyzed based on the required criteria
Concepts are rated out of 5 points
Concept 3 which is having higher rating point is finalized.
Then it is modelled on any of the modelling softwares.
19. Part 1: Holder arm which can be made from fibre/ plastic/wood which are used to
hold the bag open.
Part 2: Other end of the holder arm which is used to bring the arms closer to each
other.
Part 3: Made from PVC pipes or plastic tubes and through which we can adjust the
height.
Part 4: Springs used to ensure that holding arms are pulled away from each other
and jute bag is held tight.

Earphone gets tangled when
they are kept inside the bag or
pocket.
It takes a lot of time to use it
next time, and it is irritating as
well.
•If you are in a hurry you might
damage it while untangling it.
`
22. Data gathered by need analysis
Design and operation should be simple as possible.
Altering the design should not make much difference in the overall cost of
earphones.
It should not affect the performance or life of the earphone considerably.

Rating is done on the basis of 5 points.
Concept 2 which is more easier to access comparing to the 1st model is given more
rating.
Concept 2 which is having higher overall rating is selected and proceeded for further
designing processes.
Wireless Bluetooth earphone is also one of the solutions but they are too costly. So
it is not considered for the analysis,
