BATTLESHIP- Conceptual Teaser #1

Concept #1: OUT OF THE BLUE
Graphic: Blue and black background with minimal light filtering in from above. We
begin traveling upward but initially are unsure of what we are looking at or
where we are going. The background begins to look like water and we
realize that we are under water. Cards appear to fade in and out of the
water, reacting to it, moving and flowing much like we are in deep dark
water. They are drifting towards the surface, the direction we are headed.
Sun and light begin to shoot through the surface. We see floating specs drifting by and at
first we are not sure what they are but then we see that they are particles in the water. As
we get closer to thesurface, there is more and more light filtering through.

Battleship Teaser Concept #2: UNDERWATER WRECKAGE
Graphic: We are several feet under the ocean waters. At first it is unclear we are in the ocean. The
environment around us is slightly murky, bluish green. Light streams in from above.
Cards: ON A PEACEFUL DAY
IN THE DEEPEST WATERS OF THE WORLD
Graphic: Objects go floating by. What are they? More objects go floating by but now they are ones
that have more shape. Pieces of metal, possibly twisted, a weapon part, or parts of a
ship.We are not sure where they are from.
THEY POSSESS UNDENIABLE POWER AND STRENGTH
Graphic: We start to realize that they are pieces of a ship, a railing, a door with portal window, etc.
The music takes on an ominous tone.

Graphic: The pace and threatening tone of the music quickens rapidly. We have been looking at
the aftermath of an explosion on one of the ships. We just don’t know it yet.

Graphics: Camera pans slowly over a montage of sepia, black and white, Polaroid, and modern
color photographs. It starts up close so we can see each photograph. Music plays gently
in the background.
There are shots of various and random people from around the world; male and female,
children, families, school photos, wedding photos, holiday cards, work colleagues,
athletes, people with their family pets, school class photos, etc. Some are in good
condition, others are tattered. There are pictures of people on vacation, some in front of
famous landmarks, the Golden Gate Bridge, the New York Skyline, The Great Wall of
China, Big Ben. etc.
NARR: WE LIVE IN A WORLD FILLED WITH DIVERSITY
WHERE NO TWO FACES ARE EXACTLY ALIKE

earths’ landmasses and bodies of water. Or, alternatively the photos could become a 2-D
mosaic map of the world.

#1 Not Funny Ralph
PIC: A wife is standing in a kitchen, pealing potatoes looking bored
and slightly irritated. Her husband enters wearing mask a
bloodied face ghost with a hatchet through the head. Wife
screams the way you do when you see someone out of the
corner of your eye without expecting it. But she quickly recovers
when she sees it’s just him with a stupid mask on. Or maybe she
doesn’t scream at all; she just keeps peeling potatoes, not
looking at him but saying:
Wife: Not funny Ralph.
PIC: One or two more quick scenes where wife is reading a magazine
or paying bills and Ralph comes in with mask on. She doesn’t
even look up or scream. Just says blandly; “Not funny Ralph.”
PIC: In final quick scene a figure we think is Ralph wearing his mask.
We realize before wife that this is the real deal. She doesn’t look
up but says: “Not funny Ralph.”
Ralph from another room says “What’d you say?”
Wife looks up as he’s saying this. Looks at figure, hears Ralph in
another room. The figure begins to levitate off the floor. Wife
Screams. Title card comes slamming down.

#2 Haunted Kitchen
PIC: A mother is working at the island in a beautiful kitchen. Her
teenage daughter is sitting on the island playing mindlessly on her
phone. The mother turns around to get the flour canister off the
counter but it is missing. Blank spot where it would be sitting next
to the sugar jar. Mother sees jar at far end of counter. Puts it in it’s
places and opens it. She turns to get a measuring cup out of the
drawer.
Mother: You didn’t put the flour back where it belonged.
Daughter: I did.
PIC: They may argue a bit about how things are never in their place in
the house, the daughter blaming the house the mother blaming
the daughter. Mother turns back to get the canister and it’s
moved again.
Mother: Very funny.
Daughter: What?
Mother: Moving the flour.
PIC: As the mother continues to argue with daughter the daughter
screams “Mom!” and points behind Mom. Mom says a tired
“what?” and turns to see canister hanging in midair. Both scream.
Canister falls to ground and is shattered.
Card: Strange things are happening in the neighborhood.

#3 Haunted Photograph
PIC: Slow push in on an elegant room. We hear audio of couple
talking nearby but OC.
Husband: You worry too much.
Wife: You didn’t see what I saw.
Husband: It’s your imagination.
Wife: Maybe you’re right. My mind is playing tricks on me?
Husband: Exactly.
PIC: Camera continues to travel through the room, stopping on a
display of family photographs. Camera stops at a photo of an old
woman and nothing happens for a few seconds and then old
woman’s eyes move in a creepy way, much like the viral photo
of Tilda Swinton moves-for one second and then freezes again
(very creepy).
PIC: We hear both husband and wife give a blood curdling scream.
Photo falls over or alternatively bursts into flames, revealing DVD
box of AHS.

THE WOLVERINE-Special Shoot Conceptual Trailer
[Assignment: Come up with concepts for a special shoot.]
#1 Metal Claws
Shards of metal that look like knives float across the screen. Letters (cards) begin to burn
into the metal. Each card would be etched into an individual blade (graphic teaser
cards). Pull back and all the shards return and spell out Wolverine.
Alt: Shards of metal with the cards etched onto them. One (with cards) fills most of the
screen. Camera does a super pull back and reveals that shards are Wolverine’s claws as
he overlooks Tokyo. Transition to the title made out of the blades/chards
#2 The Bar
A local bar in Tokyo. Patrons are quietly drinking and music is playing in the background.
Wolverine enters. One of the men drops his drink and it crashes to the floor. The very
presence of Wolverine terrifies him and he begs Wolverine for his life. Screen goes black-to
title.
#3 The Tea Shop
Camera pans down the isle of an ornate and beautiful Japanese teashop. There are
metal boxes of tea stacked in perfect precision, everywhere. A hand reaches out. It is
beautiful, with long painted nails and it picks up a tin of tea that has a skull and cross
bones on it, indicating that it is poison. We hear Vipers evil laugh and the camera turns to
face her as she reaches and picks up the container. But she sees something and turns
ready to battle. We turn to see her POV. It is Wolverine whose shadow appears in the glass
window of the door of the shop just before he punches through the window, and bursts
into the shop. The tea cup shatters in her hand. Screen goes black-to title.

THE WOLVERINE-Special Shoot Conceptual Trailer
[Assignment: Come up with concepts for a special shoot.]
#4 The Wedding
We see what appears to be a glistening silver cloth covering a table. As the camera
moves light dances off of it. On the table is an ornate wedding cake, champagne bottles
and glasses, etc. We hear the sound of voices laughing and talking at a gathering,
and/or the sound of the wedding march, playing, voices cheering, music playing in the
background. On the top of the wedding cake is a tiny likeness of Wolverine and his bride.
The silver cloth moves ever so slightly and we hear Wolverine say (OS). ”Show yourself if
you dare, Samurai.” We hear a loud explosion and screams. Screen goes black. Cards
relay the concept: “They flew from around the world… for a wedding, to celebrate the
union of their hero with his beautiful bride to be…. But nothing could prepare them for
this...” Pillars in the room are knocked over and the roof collapses. In the background we
hear a woman shout “No Wolverine, no!
#5 Apothecary Shop
We are outside looking through the window of an old-fashioned apothecary shop. The
door is opened and the bell rings. A handsome man wearing an expensive suit
enters.Viper appears behind the counter as if from nowhere, looking beautiful and
majestic. They exchange a few words and she offers and then pours her guest some tea
which he sips as he speaks with her. He is here to find a way to poison someone and has
heard of her. He begins to rattle off a list of people and superheroes she has killed,
poisoned, battled or triumphed against. “But you have not defeated Wolverine,” he
taunts. “Wolverine is next, she states, after someone else.” “Who?” he asks. “You,” she
states and he looks in horror from her face and the down at the cup of tea he’s been
drinking. He crumples to the ground, choking, dead, as she laughs.
#6 Life Stories: Viper and Wolverine
The story is told in flashes-shots and pictures from Wolverine and/or Viper’s life-from
childhood until the first time they meet. There is a fast series of photos, surveillance
videos, a mug shot of Viper, old family films of Wolverine, etc. Cards or VO tells of the two
of them, born on opposite sides of the globe, destined to meet and become enemies.
The piece ends on top of a building in Tokyo where they face off and begin

CARS 2 Teaser #1
CHANGING OF THE GUARD
Visual: Camera slowly pans right, down a long line of palace guards in front of Buckingham
Palace. Mater and Lighting are talking off camera to the right. Lightning sounds
nervous and is whispering. Mater is very excited and is talking very loudly. The
guards all look deadpan/frozen and stare straight ahead as guards do at Buckingham
Palace.
Lightning: (OC) “Mater I’m not sure this was such a good idea.”
Mater: (OC) “Nonsense.”
Visual: One of the guards breaks form for a second as his eyeballs dart briefly towards them to
the right. His eyes quickly return to formation.
Mater: “Hey, he looked!”
Lightning: “No he didn’t!”
Visual: Camera continues to pan down the line.
Mater: “I’m tellin’ ya. He’s a looky loo!”
Lightning: “We shouldn’t be doing this.”
Mater: “Nonsense!”
Visual: Camera pans across the line to reveal Mater dressed up as a guard, smiling away,
imitating the guards with an exaggerated stiff posture. The guards by his side are
staring straight ahead, looking very serious. Mater is wearing an oversized
Buckingham Palace Guard tourist hat. Lightning is standing next to him also dressed
up and looking freaked out.
Mater: “This is more fun that tractor tippin’ back home!”
Lightning: “I think we should leave…People are starting to glare at us.”
Mater: “Just hold still one more second. Mack went to get the camera. We gotta get a shot of
this!”
Visual: A rotating police light from a police car is reflected on to them. We hear its siren.
Lightning: “Tell him to hurry up. I see a Bobby coming and he doesn’t look to happy!”
Mater: “Bobby who?”

CARS 2 Teaser #2
GET PACKING!
Visual: A Cars themed suitcase, open and packed full, lies on a bed in a boys room. The room
is decorated with “Cars” merchandise; a “Cars” comforter, curtains, lamp, etc. French
music plays instilling a sense of irony and humor. Items are thrown carelessly in the
suitcase, from off screen, falling with a loud “thump” and making it shake. The case is
filled way past capacity. At first it looks like the normal interior of a suitcase as we
can see there are folded piles of cloth and miscellaneous items that look like they
could be clothes and toys. Quickly items start to get thrown in that have to do with the
care and feeding of cars. A chamois, a lug wrench, other tools and car related items.
(This scene could also take place in Mater’s garage. The suitcase is laying on the floor
or a table and seems a bit out of place at first until items get thrown into it.)
Lightning: (OC) “You’re way over packing man, I’m telling you.
You don’t need all this stuff.”
Mater: (OC) “Wrench-Check. Chamois-Check. Car jack-check.”
Lightning: (Increasingly frustrated.) “You don’t need all that! We already packed all the tools on
the truck.”
Mater “Ain’t never been to Europe before. Can’t be too prepared. That’s what my daddy
always said.”
Visual: A box of chocolates is tossed into the suitcase.
Lightning: “What’s that for?!!!”
Mater: Case I meet me a French lady. Gots to be prepared!
Visual: A teapot wrapped in an ornate ribbon is thrown in.
Lightning: (Exasperated.) “What’s that for?”
Mater: “Those English girls: they love their tea.”
Lighting: “We’re not going to have time for that!”
Mater: “Always gotta have time for love.”

Visual: A can of Italian motor oil is tossed in.
Lighting: (More exasperated.) “In case you meet an Italian girl?”
Mater: “Na, I’m just thirsty.”
Alt: “Nah, I just likes it.”
Alt: “Nah, case I needs a snack.”
Alt: “You catch on quick!”
Visual: The case is slammed closed. It is filled past the brim. It is so full items are sticking out
on all sides.
Lightning: “It’s too full! That’s not going to work.”
Mater: “Aww, you worry too much Lightnin’. It’s fine. Let’s go!”
Visual: Within a second the case pops open and items fly everywhere, slamming into the
screen, including an exploding can of motor oil. Camera turns to reveal Mater and
Lightning. Lightning is covered in motor oil and looks very displeased. Mater is
laughing hysterically.
Mater: “I ain’t laughing at you, I’m laughing with you.”
