This document outlines a daily Bible reading plan for the month of August 2014. It includes a daily Bible passage from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs to read each day. It encourages reading the Bible daily and relying on God's grace and spiritual disciplines to help reach new heights. It also provides encouragement to not get discouraged if a day is missed but to simply pick back up with the reading.

The Cause is a church founded on prayer. We believe that wher-ever we go, we must first go there in prayer. We believe prayer and reading the Bible can’t just be routine; they’re meant to be the heartbeat of your life, your daily connection to God. But developing this discipline won’t happen by accident. 1 Timothy 4:7-8 says to “take time and trouble to keep yourself spiritually fit.” No one can go to the gym for you and no one can grow your prayer life for you. This book is designed to help you start your year strong by learning to pray with purpose, joining your prayers with God’s word so that you’re equipped for any season or situation you may face. On each page you will find a theme paired with a story from the Bible and a promise from God. Take time to read each set of scriptures, reflect on how they relate to the theme and connect with each other, and allow God to speak to you as you do so. Our hope is that through doing this you will discover the great joy that comes from living So Fresh & So Clean, as you allow Jesus to shape and direct your life.
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

BIBLE READING PLAN
AUGUST 2014
Reading your Bible daily and praying
for God to speak to you is the ultimate
goal of any Bible reading plan.
If you get a day behind in your reading,
don’t get disheartened and quit. Just
pick up your Bible again and keep
going from today’s date.
