Eco Couture Limited in Bangladesh made improvements to it’s facilities without disrupting production. Many times when a facility finds itself in need of roof work, that facility must shut down a particular section and reroute traffic in order to maintain safety and allow for the work to be performed. With the fluid applied Astec Re-Ply Roofing System, the facility staff and customers were hardly aware of the work being performed.
The External Insulated Tents (EITS) project at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait is a power savings initiative designed to reduce fuel consumption, the number of Environmental Control Units (ECU) being utilized, and reduce the size and quantity of generators needed which will result in an overall reduction in the level of power consumption.
Heat islands can affect communities by increasing summertime peak energy demand, air conditioning costs, air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, heat-related illness and mortality, and water quality. Reducing Urban Heat Islands: Compendium of Strategies (October 2008) describes the causes and impacts of summertime urban heat islands and promotes strategies for lowering temperatures in U.S. communities.

GSA evaluated 12 sustainably designed buildings in its national portfolio. The evaluation of these buildings was comprehensive measuring environmental performance, financial metrics, and occupant satisfaction. No previous analysis has taken such a holistic view. the buildings studied all incorporated sustainable design criteria to varying degrees, with seven receiving leed ratings. The results of GSA's evaluation show that sustainably designed buildings outperform the national average for buildings of their type by a substantial margin.
