This document analyzes a class of 1st grade special education students and outlines a plan to teach them the months of the year. The class has 17 students who are mostly white or African American. Several students have ADHD. The plan is to use flashcards, a calendar, a puzzle, and a YouTube video to teach the students to read and order the months with 100% accuracy. Materials are selected, such as laminated flashcards and a plastic calendar. The teacher will introduce the calendar, have students make puzzle pieces, play the video, work in pairs with flashcards, and put the puzzle together to evaluate learning. Performance will be evaluated on reading, ordering, and speed to determine if revisions are needed.
