Assignment under Copyright
Section 18 of the Copyright Act, 1947 discusses the
concept of Ownership.
The owner of the copyright in the already copyrighted
work has the right to assign the trademark to any party.
Grant of Assignment
The Assignment can be granted to:
Whole or partial copyrighted work.
Subjected to any certain conditions or limitations of the copyrighted work.
If the copyrighted work is in for a certain time period i.e., 60 years.
Essentials of a copyright Assignment
• The agreement shall be in writing between the
parties.
• The agreement shall include all the relevant rights
of the assignor and the assignee.
• Term period of the assignment
• Territorial extent of the assignment.
