In 2009, 16.8 million out of the 38.5 million immigrants
were naturalized.
There is a medium of 6 years between legal immigration
and naturalization
In 2010, about 620,000 people received citizenship in the
U.S. out of the 711,000 who applied.
Reasons for denial of citizenship are
1) The applicant cannot prove 5 years of permanent
residence in the U.S.
2)Applicant is found to lack loyalty to the U.S.
3)Applicant if found to have bad moral character
4)If the applicant fails the required English language
or American civics test.

1) Mexico at 10.8%
