Asociación Project Management de Guatemala (APMG) has become federally affiliated with the International Project Management Association (IPMA). APMG's application for membership was unanimously approved at an IPMA Council of Delegates meeting in Riga, Latvia. This allows APMG access to IPMA's global resources and marks an important milestone for Guatemala. APMG aims to promote professional project management in Guatemala and ensure projects are executed successfully, ethically, and transparently.

Alcanzamos el primer gran hito para Guatemala con la Federación de nuestra asociación ante
IPMA (International Project Management Association www.impa.ch ). Puedes ver la noticia
más abajo. Fuimos a defender la candidatura de Guatemala a Riga (26 y 27 de marzo) y el
voto de aceptación fue unánime.
Ahora tenemos acceso a todos los recursos de IPMA a nivel mundial. ¿Tienes algún proyecto

Formación de Organismo Certificador:
El organismo certificador bajo la norma 17,024 va a encargarse de certificar personas.
Los puestos a ocupar son los siguientes: Presidente, VP, Secretario, Director de Certificación,
Auditor de Calidad, 2 NFA-National First Assesors
Invitamos a los que pudieran estar interesados en colaborar con el Organismo Certificador de
hacernos saber de su interés de participar (responder antes de abril 15). Requisitos será el
deseo de certificarse a un mínimo de Nivel C en los próximos 2 años.

Guatemalan National Project Management Association enters IPMA

Asociación de Project Management de Guatemala (APMG) application for
membership in the International Project Management Association (IPMA) was
unanimously approved by the IPMA Council of Delegates at the council meeting
on March 26th and 27th 2011 in Riga, Latvia. APMG was warmly welcomed in to the
global family of IPMA Member Associations by all participants of the IPMA Council of
Delegates.
APMG was represented in the Council of Delegates meeting by Mr Bernhard
Haidacher, APMG President. Mr Haidacher delivered a presentation in which he
provided a general introduction to Guatemala, APMG mission and vision, and the
history, contemporary statistics and activities, as well as future plans. Mr Haidacher
expressed his gratitude to Dr Jesús Martínez Almela and the IPMA Latin
American and Caribbean Countries (LACC) project, which greatly encouraged
APMG to apply for IPMA membership.

3. Mr Haidacher was very happy about IPMA Council of Delegates unanimous decision
to approve APMG application for IPMA membership, and said “This is the result of
the collective effort and enthusiasm of my board colleagues, committees and
AGEXPORT (Guatemalan Exporters’ Association) which under the leadership of Mr
Luis Godoy offered to incubate our organization. We all feel this is our small
individual contribution to Guatemala, but we are also confident that to our
Guatemala it will become as big as the sequencing of the human genome in the

regular meetings and a total of 200 participants representing
different institutions and enterprises, Asociación de Project
Management de Guatemala (APMG) aims to promote professional project
