George Van Tassel claimed to be receiving messages from Ashtar, a divine being in charge of protecting Earth, beginning in the 1940s. Over the next few decades, the mythology of Ashtar Galactic Command grew out of Van Tassel's channeling and the broader UFO and contactee movements. Ashtar Command believes Earth is being helped by extraterrestrials and ascended masters to ascend to a higher dimension, and that channeling is the way to communicate with these beings. However, the movement has faced challenges of ridicule from mainstream sources. As interest in UFOs increases in popular culture, Ashtar Command and similar groups may see more growth and acceptance.
The document summarizes the origins and beliefs of Ashtar Command, described as a diffuse New Age Spiritualist movement originating from channeled entities in the 1950s. It traces the beginnings to contactees claiming to speak with beings like Ashtar and Nordic aliens. Key events included the 1994 "Pioneer Voyage" and the 1977 Southern Television Broadcast Interruption. Ashtar Command believes in serving as midwives to humanity's ascension to the 5th dimension and that all life is divine, following policies of non-interference. They acknowledge one eternal life force known by many names.
The document discusses modern Europe which is experiencing a crisis and low birth rates. It contrasts this situation with Scandinavia, the most stable part of Europe, and a brutal, masculine region, likely referring to Russia. The document hints that more analysis on this contrasting region will be shown later.

This document provides an overview and summary of the book Exo-Vaticana by Thomas Horn. It discusses several key points:
1) Unusual UFO sightings were reported over Vatican City in 1978 during the year of three popes, and again in 2005 surrounding the death and funeral of Pope John Paul II.
2) An Italian diplomat reported hundreds of witnesses to unusual UFO formations directly over Vatican City in 1954 that resembled letters and geometric shapes.
3) Remarkably similar UFO formations were seen over Washington D.C. around the same time in November 1954 near the US Capitol building.
4) The author speculates these sightings in Rome and Washington D.C.

This document discusses the six different meanings or interpretations of the term "evolution" and argues that five of the six are religious beliefs rather than scientific facts. It presents the six interpretations as: 1) Cosmic evolution - the origin of the universe, 2) Chemical evolution - the origin of higher elements, 3) Stellar evolution - the origin of stars, 4) Organic evolution - the origin of life, 5) Macro-evolution - major changes in life forms, and 6) Micro-evolution - small changes within species. The document questions whether scientists actually know these origins occurred through unguided natural processes, or whether they are believing on faith since some events have not been observed or replicated experimentally. Exopolitics Magazine edition 2 by British Exopolitics ExpoExopolitics Hungary
This document provides a summary of an article from the autumn 2014 edition of Exopolitics Magazine. It discusses several topics related to ufology and exopolitics. It looks at the question of whether contactees can be manipulated in communications with purported extraterrestrial or terrestrial intelligences. It also discusses the need for a second level of citizen diplomacy between Earth and other civilizations, and the risks of contactee manipulation. The document covers other articles on successful information exchanges with extraterrestrials, mysterious entities like the Djinn that may be connected to UFO experiences, geometric patterns observed on the moon, and an upcoming exopolitics conference.
This document summarizes the emergence of UFO abduction reports in popular awareness from the 1960s onward. It notes that early cases like the Hill abduction in 1961 contained fantastical elements like encounters with short alien beings. Interest grew through the 1970s with more widely publicized cases. By the 1980s, over 600 reports had been collected, though interpretations varied widely between those who believed the experiences were real extraterrestrial encounters versus skeptics who saw them as fantasies or hoaxes. The document analyzes abduction reports as a form of folklore and notes they are interpreted differently by ufologists, skeptics, and the abductees themselves.
The document discusses Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton's views on God and the universe. Both men believed that the complex laws and order of the universe must be the work of a superior power, even if they did not fully understand cosmology. It also discusses how modern telescopes like Hubble have revealed more details of the vast and precise universe that point to an incomprehensible power behind its formation.
This document provides a summary of a fictional novel in 3 chapters. The summary of Chapter 1 describes how the creator god formed life on Earth but an accident with another planet caused mutations that led to early humans. Chapter 2 discusses how the god placed the first civilization, Atlantis, on an island with resources and ruled by independent beings called Neteru who organized the humans. The humans began building statues of the gods and making weapons through practicing with animals they sacrificed.
Jacques Vallee Discusses the UFO Control Systemandrew_ryan
Vallee proposes a startling theory about UFOs - that they are not extraterrestrial spacecraft but are instead a modern manifestation of a phenomenon that has appeared throughout history in different forms. While UFOs seem to have a physical component that leaves evidence, their ultimate nature may be unknowable and their messages appear absurd but address human myth and imagination on a symbolic level. Investigators should prioritize witnesses' well-being over obtaining UFO data and alternative techniques like relaxation may be better than hypnosis for recall.

1) Cosmic Awareness reveals that aliens known as the "Beast" have infiltrated Earth and are working through secret societies like the Illuminati to control humanity.
2) The Beast's plan involves taking over governments, including installing robot duplicates of leaders, to initiate a nuclear war and enslave the population.
3) In 1979, Russian agents disrupted this plan by executing American leaders and taking power themselves to prevent the planned war. Cosmic Awareness is releasing classified information about UFOs and the Beast to inform the public about what has really been occurring.
Man set the buzz on aliens and extra terrestrials going. Centuries after centuries slipped by, but the progress and pace by either of the earthlings or the aliens, has been barely close to a stand off by both.
Now it is time we snapped the suspense, got the fuss undone and the euphoria regarding existence of an alien civilization closed.
Frank Drake organized the first scientific meeting to discuss the possibility of discovering life on other worlds in 1961. He created what became known as the Drake Equation to summarize the key factors needed to estimate the number of detectable civilizations in our galaxy. The equation multiplied terms for the rate of star formation, the fraction of stars with planets, the number of planets that could support life, the fraction where life emerges and develops intelligence, the fraction that develop technologies for communication, and the length of time such civilizations remain detectable. At the meeting, estimates for the factors produced a value close to 1 for the number of civilizations, depending largely on how long they remain detectable. The Drake Equation became widely known and helped focus discussion on the challenges of
The Aetherius Society is a UFO religion founded in 1955 by George King who claimed contact with alien beings. King believed Jesus was from Venus and that batteries could be charged with prayer. However, the Society's beliefs about Mars and the asteroid belt having been a planet have been scientifically refuted. Additionally, King's numerous titles and honors appear to have been fabricated or exaggerated despite his claims of contact with extraterrestrials.
A battle has been raging on this planet for thousands of years. The battle for control of the minds and wills of humanity. Many have been taught that it is a battle between God's angels and Satan's demons. The truth of the matter is something much more insidious.
A conspiracy of cosmic proportions has been orchestrated against the inhabitants of this planet by an alien influence which is so deceptive, elusive, cunning and evil that even the most brilliant minds have failed to detect its presence. Over the past fifty years, technological advances by "ungodly" scientists have caused the alien presence to step up its plans for the human race. In so doing, the veil of deception has begun to fall away and the truth has finally been exposed.
A group of rebel human/alien hybrids had once again established a base on Earth and had set up a genetic laboratory to help mankind break free of the genetic bonds of aging which the Elohim had programmed into our DNA (NOTE: telomerase). Today we read more and more about alien abductions and reproductive and genetic experimentation being conducted on humans against their will by aliens.
Realizing that man would eventually grow beyond the shackles that the Gods have forged for us, the alien masters have channeled visions of an impending apocalypse in the minds of many humans. The book of Revelations in the Bible is a popular example of this imagery. In this channeled vision, the author describes a world leader who will rise to power and bring mankind under a single world government. This leader is given scary titles such as "The Antichrist" or "The Beast" to keep people afraid and to prevent them from using reason to judge the value of this leader's actions. Once again we see our alien masters using that age-old tool: FEAR, to cause people to react irrationally.
The current Masters realize that their key to keeping mankind enslaved is to keep man subdued and at war with himself. Religion has been used as a tool to keep man from becoming a threat to the Gods.

Francoist ideologies and how they relate to Spanish CinemaDaniel Potes
This document discusses how Spanish film director Luis Bunuel subverted Francoist ideology in his films through various techniques. It analyzes Bunuel's film The Obscure Object of Desire in particular. Some of the ways Bunuel subverted Francoist ideals included showing disrespect towards authority figures, portraying female characters as powerful and subjugating male characters, and symbolizing Spain's desire to be free from Franco's control through the character Conchita's refusal to be possessed by the male protagonist Fabert. The document argues that Bunuel used his films to subtly criticize and oppose the censorship and propaganda of Franco's fascist regime in Spain.
Spanish Cinema as it relates to National IdentityDaniel Potes
Spanish cinema has a strong history of portraying national identity due to its past. It developed slowly initially due to a lack of cinematic technology in Spain. Spanish directors learned from other national cinemas like those of America and France. Under Franco's fascist rule, Spanish cinema became a vehicle for propagating nationalistic propaganda. After Franco's death, directors incorporated elements of genres like American film noir to subtly critique the regime through their films, helping Spanish cinema to evolve into its own style despite censorship.
Harmony Korine uses his films to create societal conversations and commentaries. In his film Kids, Korine separates the children into communities that operate under different systems of power, referencing philosophers like Foucault. Korine's film Julian Donkey Boy also explores concepts of power through the lens of schizophrenia. Spring Breakers contrasts religious and partying communities to examine tensions between societal norms. Overall, Korine uses unconventional filmmaking techniques and clashes between communities to start discussions about modern society and power structures.
This document discusses several philosophers and concepts that inform an interpretation of the film Kids by Larry Clark and Harmony Korine. It outlines Michel Foucault's concepts of deductive and generative power, which are demonstrated in a scene from the film. It also discusses Giorgio Agamben's concept of "homo sacer" and how it relates to Foucault's theory of biopower and control over life. Finally, it discusses Jean-Luc Nancy's work on myth and community and how Kids uses postmodern myths of city life to create an abstract philosophical inquiry through rituals of modern society.
Film Theory As It Relates To Video Game NarratologyDaniel Potes
1) The document discusses how film theory can be applied to analyze the narratives and power structures depicted in video games. It uses the video game Dragon Age: Inquisition as a case study.
2) In Dragon Age: Inquisition, different races like humans, elves, dwarves, and Qunari vie for power in the fictional world of Thedas. The player can choose to play as a Qunari mage character, who as an outcast is similar to Agamben's "homo sacer".
3) The game depicts the tensions between the Circle of Magi who control mages, and the mages themselves. It also shows how choices made by the player character can impact
Dead reckoning; Homosexuality in Early CinemaDaniel Potes
1) Dead Reckoning explores themes of male identity crisis and suppressed homosexuality through the relationship between Captain Murdock and his partner Johnny Drake. Murdock projects his feelings for Johnny onto other characters after Johnny's death.
2) The film uses subtle subtext and camera techniques to suggest a homosexual relationship between Murdock and Johnny. Their intimate dialogue hints at feelings beyond friendship.
3) Chandler acts as a femme fatale, subjugating male authority. Murdock regains control by capturing the criminals and rejecting Chandler's plans. He projects his love for Johnny onto her as she dies.
The document discusses Akira Kurosawa's 1949 film Stray Dog, considered the earliest example of Japanese film noir. It adapts the conventions of the film noir genre from the West, including a subversive male protagonist, femme fatale character undermining the male lead's authority, and overall dark tone. The film is set in postwar Japan and explores themes of national identity loss following World War 2 through the story of a police officer whose gun is stolen. It incorporates elements of both Western and Japanese culture to forge a new national identity as the country rebuilt. Film noir had a lasting influence on Japanese cinema and continues to influence modern anime and manga.

This document discusses how filmic analysis and literary analysis has evolved to include other art forms such as paintings, photographs, and video games. It provides an example of how a painting was analyzed and related to the film The Skin I Live In. Modern technologies like video games, virtual reality, and computer animation have created new forms of interactive experiences that can also be analyzed textually. The document uses the video game Dying Light as an example, summarizing the game's plot about airdropping into a city overrun by zombies and helping survivors. It argues that philosophies from thinkers like Deleuze, Agamben, Kafka, Benjamin, Derrida, and Nietzsche can be applied to understand modern
Marshall Applewhite and Bonnie Nettles founded the religious group Heaven's Gate in the 1970s. They believed that they were the two witnesses from the Book of Revelation and that they had to prepare their followers to leave Earth on a spaceship hidden behind the Hale-Bopp comet. The group practiced strict rules and rituals aimed at overcoming human tendencies like sexuality. After Nettles' death in 1985, Applewhite came to believe that the only way to reach the "Next Level" was by shedding one's human body through suicide. In 1997, he led 39 followers in a mass suicide so their souls could board the spaceship before it passed Earth. The group's website is still online with their final messages

2. FOUNDERS/GROUP HISTORY
Ashtar Galactic Command has a complicated history that is further
complicated by a broad range of similar UFO groups and movements. Ashtar
Command naturally evolved out of a motley crew of UFO believers and movements,
the most important of which was the Contactee movement and George Van Tassel.
Before arriving at Van Tassel however, the first contactee must be introduced.
Another George, George Adamski was arguably the earliest and most prolific UFO
contactees.
The Contactee movement began as early as the 18th century when Emanuel
Swedenborg claimed to have conversed with spirits from planets throughout the
solar system. This began a slow growing but steady evolution of the UFO movement
in general. George Adamski was one of the first to bring major attention to the
contactee movement after his initial claims of contact in 1946. Because of it’s timing
with the Roswell Incident and other distinct UFO sightings of the era, his bogus
claims became mainstream and his following grew. Out of the movements that
Adamski influenced arose George Van Tassel’s contact.
He claimed Contact With Lord Ashtar, a divine being in charge of the
protection of the planet earth and all its inhabitants. Over the course of the next two
decades the mythos behind Ashtar grew and the Solar Government slowly came into
3. being through his discussions with Ashtar. With instructions from a Venusian Alien,
Van Tassel began work on constructing a cellular rejuvenation device called the
Integratron. The Integratron became the core aspect of the Ashtar movement for
some time while the lore shifted and evolved along side other such new religious
movements as the Raelians and Heaven’s Gate Founders Applewhite and Nettles.
After Decades of construction on the Integratron and no working prototype
completed, Van Tassel’s movement diminished, until finally, on November 26 1977,
The Southern Television Broadcast Interruption happened. A message from Vrillon,
one of the leaders of the Ashtar Galactic Command interrupted a normal television
broadcast and in a 5 minute long broadcast warned the people of earth of
impending danger and how to avoid it. By getting rid of atomic weapons, Vrillon
says, Ashtar Command came to,
“Serve like midwives in the birthing of humanity from dense-physical to
physical-etheric bodies of light, capable of ascending into the fifth dimension
along with the Earth."

DOCTRINES/BELIEFS
Ashtar Command is comprised of a plethora of divergent UFO movement
beliefs, a core group of which is the lore behind the different species that are
members of the Interdimensional Federation of Free Worlds. Ashtar Command is
4. seen only as the Airborne Division of the “Great Brotherhood of Light”.
The Great Brotherhood of light is a group of Ascended Masters, being who
have transcended dense-physical bodies and ascended into physical-etheric bodies
that are closer to the divine. These Ascended Masters and their disciples work
together as part of the “Interplanetary Confederation” to maintain stability in our
solar system. These earthly ascended Masters are subservient to the greater Ashtar,
who is seen as a true Son of God, one of the non-fallen celestial beings.
Ashtar originally contacted George Van Tassel and began the direct earthly
contact that followers of the Ashtar Command Movement have said has never
diminished. There are plenty of followers of Ashtar who believe themselves to have
begun Ascended Mastership and claim to have travelled to various planets and been
a part of interplanetary delegations to the confederation.

Ashtar Command beliefs such as these arise out of several different new
religious movements of the 1930’s-80’s such as the Theosophic movement that the
Ascended Masters come from, and these groups were subsequently the result of
even older religious movements such as Aleister Crowley and the Knights Templar.
As such, Ashtar Command salvages and scavenges components of past and present
religious movements to place itself firmly betwixt and between all of the major UFO
and New Age spirituality movements.
Members of Ashtar Command believe in a multitude of extraterrestrial
beings, ranging from aliens from our solar system, such as Van Tassel’s Venusian, to
5. Interdimensional beings such as Ashtar and Vrillon, members of a higher
dimensional order, an order that spans all of creation.
RITUALS/PRACTICES
The basic Ritual/practice that brought about this specific UFO movement
was that of Channeling. The ritual Channeling of extraterrestrial entities became a
phenomenon in the early 20th century and persists to this day with a plethora of
6. channelers practicing their craft on places such as youtube. The Practice that began
Ashtar Command in particular and that is still practiced today is a ritual similar to a
séance or group meditation, however it is held outside in open air. Psychic signals
are sent out by the channelers in hopes of reaching an Ashtar Spaceship and
influencing it to come show itself for the members of the séance.
These group meditations are often done in the hills of the Midwest, such as
the fateful day that George Van Tassel had his first extraterrestrial encounter in the
Mojave Desert. Since then he continued to have his group meditations and created
the Giant Rock Spacecraft Convention, which he held yearly until his death in 1978.
LEADERSHIP
The Leadership of Ashtar command began with the initial contact with
Ashtar by George Van Tassel, however, the leadership quickly turned digital after
the secondary contact during the 1977 broadcast by Vrillon. Van Tassel did not
remain the sole contactee and leader of the movement simply because he had failed
to deliver on the Integratron and a year after the broadcast in 1978, he died. With
Van Tassel’s Death, much of the information about Ashtar Command could be found
on the newly created Internet. One of the most prominent conspiracies of the times,
the UFO conspiracy gained traction with new age groups, nerd culture and a special
kind of UFO researcher, the UFOlogist. These different interconnecting movements
have worked hand in hand for the last 40 years to create an intertwined
spiritualistic UFO movement known as Ashtar Galactic Command.
7. The organization within the movement’s mythology however is far more
entangled. Led by the Celestial Being Ashtar, Ashtar Command has several Ascended
Masters working towards the Ascension of humanity. Vrillon is one such emissary,
another being Yeshua, or Jesus Christ, who Van Tassel Claimed to have simply been
an emissary of Ashtar command, sent in an attempt to redeem human souls.
ISSUES/CHALLENGES
One of the biggest challenges that Ashtar Command has faced is
misinformation and anti-conspiracy dogmas. The Belief that extraterrestrial beings
have been in contact with humanity for centuries is a belief that is, and has been,
publically ridiculed and laughed out of the face of public media. As early as the
1940’s, people who came out with UFO stories or stories of contact or even
abductions were met with negative and harsh responses. This has led to the
continued dismissal of UFO accounts by the government and mainstream media.
It has been only recently that mainstream media has began to alter its view
of UFO culture. 2015 has shown a recent number of mainstream media reporting on
UFO news, this shift in the social view of UFOs has made itself known in popular
culture such as Hollywood and the video game industry. Hardly a month goes by
without a new UFO sighting coming out or a UFO themed video game releasing. The
challengers have slowly shifted to the other side of UFO movements from mocking
to reporting.
8. Because of this shift in the challenges to movements such as Ashtar Galactic
Command, their reception has gotten warmer and growth has begun to set in. As
more and more popular media outlets give attention to UFOs, Ashtar Command and
similar movements will continue to grow and evolve.
