Foster the development and adoption of intelligent
manufacturing technologies within Mexico’s
strategic export sectors toimprove competitiveness
and productivity
Vision
By 2025, the Group will have created a
collaboration vehicle through which dynamic and
emerging manufacturing industries (automotive,
aerospace, electronics, medical devices, etc.) draw
upon ICT companies’ expertise in driving innovation
Smart Cities-MEXIndustry 4.0-MEX
Mission
Toact as a multidisciplinary groupfocused on the
adoption of frameworks, promotion of new
solutions, and interaction with innovation clusters
that better enable the use of Future Internet
technologies to respond to those challenges that
small, medium and large cities face in Mexico,
creating smarter solutions tocitizen-centric urban
development. The SMART_CITIES-MEX TWG will
develop Smart Cities guidelines through reference
Agendas that leverage strategic research lines
presented in this MTPSRIA.
Vision
The smart use of technologies and innovation can
help to address the challenges that small, medium
and large Mexican cities face today for sustainable
healthcare systems inclusive of ageing population,
energy savings and new sources of renewable
energy, clean water, environment protection,
mobility, connectivity, better public services and
other key aspects that will impact Mexicans’ quality
of life.

Provide effective tools and contacts for NEM-MEX
TWG members tointeract with national and
international users for the positioning of their
companies, thus forming a stronger national front.
Vision
Consolidate collaboration opportunities for
networked electronic media companies by 2020
through regional ICT clusters, and foster cooperation
with international organizations for innovative
development of audiovisuals and creative media
content in general including services and apps.
Energy-MEXNEM-MEX
Mission
Offer a cooperation vehicle for SME’s,
entrepreneurs, academia and policy makers tofoster
research and innovation initiatives that face
Mexico’s Energy challenges through new
technologies and international cooperation.
Responding to opportunities opened by the Mexican
Energy Reform, the ENERGY-MEX TWG will
establish strong links with NorthAmerica and the
European Union to promote ICT for Energy
initiatives.
Vision
MTP’sENERGY-MEX aims at becoming by 2020 the
most influential Public-Private Partnership in
Mexico, with a large participation fromMexican
SME’s and academia, with proven project execution
capabilities in the fields of smart grids, clean and
energy efficiency.
