Arun Chauhan is a PhD candidate in computer science and engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, expected to graduate in Summer 2016. His research focuses on using microblogs like tweets to predict places users may visit. He has a master's degree from IIT Kharagpur and bachelor's from Institute of Integral Technology Lucknow. He has received several fellowships and awards for his research. Previously he worked as an assistant professor and interned at IBM Watson developing a recommendation system using tweets to predict points of interest for users. He has published several papers in the areas of social media analytics, machine learning, and text mining.

Description: We built a recommendation system use to recommend Point of Interest to users at given time,
based on their past tweets on twitter timelines. For recommendation various feature vectors has been
extracted from past tweets in generating predictions. Extensive experimental study has been done on these
extracted feature vectors from users’ timelines. It is shown that the accuracy of the prediction could be as
high as 90% for the top 5 predictions.
