1. Mr. Zachary Elms' Technical Theatre students are preparing projects for a competition, including a publicity poster designed by Cali Landry and a project by Cameron Collus comparing Macbeth to Kim Jong Un. 2. Mr. Elms speaks proudly of his students and their accomplishments in theatre. 3. Theatre II students worked hard on writing and performing their own play, with Reese Newton writing his own parts and enjoying his role.

2. Sax To The Max
!
The saxophone players nervously prepare for auditions outside the
orchestra room. Sophomore Emmet Shankle prepared for many hours, but
spoke of his nervousness, “I love music and playing sax, so doing well on
this is really important to me”.

3. Teaching The Techs
!
Mr. Zachary Elms goes over the rubric for the Publicity & Design project with
his Technical Theatre students. Cali Landry put a lot of effort into the poster
she designed and spoke with pride in her work, “I designed a publicity
poster in photoshop that Mr. Elms is really pushing me to enter it in a UIL
competition”.

4. Techies’ Destiny

Mr. Zachary Elms’ Class listen to a lecture on project for Publicity & Design.
Cameron Collus explained her take on the project, “I chose to Macbeth on
North Korea, comparing Kim Jong Un directly to the titular character.”

5. Publicizing Plays
!
Mr. Zachary Elms’ Technical Theatre students learn about plays and how to
bring them into household names. Mr. Elms speaks fondly of his students,
“Students in my Tech II-IV class are destined to accomplish great things,
and I’m reminded of this when I give them projects like this”.

6. Putting On Crazy Plays
!
A group in Theatre II gather around to practice a play they wrote
themselves. Reese Newton (pictured in the blue jacket), spoke excitedly of
his role, “We worked really hard on everything, and I wrote all my own
parts!”

7. Dying For Art
!
Louisa Cizeraza holds Maria Houser as she “dies” in a dramatic scene for
their Theatre II class. Louisa had a successful performance, “I loved doing
our play, even if Maria had to die in my arms”.

through their household. Grayson played the part of the reindeer, “Being an
animal was a super weird experience, man! I’m used to being Creepy Uncle
Joe in the plays we write”.

9. Refrain From The Ruckus

Mr. Andrew Balettie asks Theatre II students, Grayson Sierp, Josh Lipert, &
Rylie Mango to stop being so noisy in the hallways. Mr. Balettie frustratingly
said, “My students just can’t focus with the theatre kids running around with
reindeers and baseball bats outside the class”.

10. Harmonic High Schoolers
!
Mrs. Bradstreet’s Choir students attempt to harmonize in order to practice
their music for a Christmas show. Allison Martinez said, “Music is my soul,
and the Choir is my family; the Christmas show was a way for us to unite
around a fun experience”.

11. Trying To Recall
!
Mrs. Bradstreet’s Choir students individually prepare, or attempt to
remember the lyrics for their next performance. Kyleh Carter said, “Despite
my nervousness at the moment, I like to sing like no one’s watching on
stage”.

12. Becoming Balettie
!
Mr. Andrew Balettie pauses from directing the band, so as to examine the
music he has prepared for them. Mr. Balettie speaks of his experience as a
band teacher, “I have devoted my life to music, being a band teacher is
delightful”.

13. Playing For Perfection
!
Mr. Andrew Balettie’s 2A band play a piece intended for a concert. Mr.
Balettie speaks highly of his band, “I teach these kids, expecting them to
come out as a nearly perfect unit. I want them to treat this like a college-
level band”.

14. Clearly Clarinets
!
Clarinet players in Mr. Balettie’s 2A band (from left to right: Edrina Bokaie,
Megan Richie, and Alex Rainer) practice their section in a new song. Alex
Rainer said, “It’s important for sections to work together, it helps not only the
band, but individuals get better”.

15. Where’s The Woodwinds?

Taylor Means said, “I love all woodwind instruments, I think they’re sound
super great and they’re a key instrument to any band”.

classes; we’re like a big family”.
