Articles 1, 2, and 3 Articles 1, 2, and 3 The first three articles describe the organization, powers, and duties of the three branches of government
Article 1 The Legislative Branch Its main purpose is to make the laws of the United States It’s made up of the: House of Representatives Senate
Article 2 The Executive Branch Its main purpose is to enforce the laws of the United States It’s made up of the: President Vice President Agencies that enforce the laws The FBI, DEA, INS, USSS
Article III Article 3: The Judicial Branch Its main purpose is to interpret the laws of the United States All judges serve for life, so long as they demonstrate “good behavior” The highest court is the Supreme Court They review cases and decisions made by lower courts
Article IV Article 4: Relations Among The States   Its main purpose is to set forth the understanding that each state must honor the laws and rules of another
Article V Article 5: Amending the Constitution   Its main purpose is to setup the manner in which the Constitution can be changed It says that three fourths of the states must approve of an amendment
Article VI Article 6: National Supremacy Its purpose is to make clear that the Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land It makes sure that no state can pass a law that goes against something written in the Constitution or one of the Amendments
Article VII Article 7: Ratification of the Constitution Its main purpose is to setup the procedure for ratifying, or approving the Constitution
