Arizona has strict laws against the possession, use, manufacture, and distribution of methamphetamine. The laws establish felony convictions for first and second offenses. A first offense is a class 2 felony with an average 10 year sentence. A second offense is also a class 2 felony with an average 15 year sentence. The document provides an example of three men convicted in 2010 of possessing 5 pounds of methamphetamine with intent to sell. They received prison sentences ranging from nearly 6 to 12 years.
