Arishev studied physical education at Chuvash State University, graduating in 1987. He began working at a secondary school in Kozlovka, Chuvashia. He received the title of "Honorary Worker of General Education of the Russian Federation" in 2011. He has trained many successful athletes, including five pupils who became champions of the Chuvash Republic and the girls' basketball team he coached that won the Chuvashia championship in 2013.
