Archie Comic Publications, Inc. is an American comic book publisher known for its many comic series featuring fictional teenagers Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Reggie Mantle, and Jughead Jones. The characters were created in 1941 by publisher John L. Goldwater, writer Vic Bloom, and artist Bob Montana, and were inspired by people Goldwater met traveling through the Midwest. Archie Comics is the company's longest-running publication, debuting in 1942 originally titled Archie Comics before being shortened to simply Archie starting with issue #114.
