From Sites to Flows: Designing for the Porous WebEven Westvang
A 2005 presentation on the shift from discrete sites to the flow, aggregation and composition of utterances. It was difficult to see then that these flows would 5 years later mostly be happening within a few huge, winner-takes-all social websites.
Contains capsule presentation of an embryonic Underskog with attending social graphs which may be interesting to some.
The presentation was given in a seminar held by a research group at the University of Oslo. http://underskog.no/kalender/135_even-westvang-from-sites-to-flows-designing-for-the-poro/forestilling/2599
Even Westvang: Open developments (Webdagene 2014)webdagene

Atmosphere Conference 2015: The 10 Myths of DevOpsPROIDEA
Speaker: Seth Vargo
Language: English
Although not officially coined until 2009, DevOps ideals have been explicitly discussed since at least 2006. Recently, however, the term "DevOps" has gained increasing popularity across a variety of fields and industries. DevOps is not a development methodology or technology; DevOps is an ideology. It is a way to facilitate organizational prosperity and growth while increasing each individual employee's happiness along the way. As DevOps has gained in prominence, a gap has been created between the original definition of DevOps and this new "enterprise-ready" buzzword.
For organizations beginning DevOps practices, this talk will provide a 10,000ft view of DevOps and how you can properly implement DevOps practices in your organization. For organizations that are currently practicing DevOps, this talk will cover common pitfalls, ways to sustain a happy culture, and new tips to foster organizational prosperity.

As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Man trenger ikke én standard.
Vi trenger ikke semantiske webteknologi.
Vi trenger bare verdifulle, lettvektige løsninger som er godt

Welcome to the Open Government Platform! You'll find here a growing set of open source, open government platform code that allows any city, organization, or
government to create an open data site. Below you'll see the first code for the Website, its CMS, Data Management System (DMS) and Visitor Relationship
Management (VRM). The Open Government Platform (OGPL) is a joint product from India and the United States to promote transparency and greater citizen
engagement by making more government data, documents, tools, and processes publicly available through a freely available, open source platform. By making
this available in useful machine-readable formats it allows developers, analysts, media, and academia to develop new applications and insights that will help
give citizens more information for better decisions. In using an open source method of development, the OGPL community will provide future technology
enhancements, open government solutions, and community-based technical support. OGPL has become an example of a new era of diplomatic collaborations
that benefit the global community that promote government transparency, citizen-focused applications, and enrich humanity. The code below is the alpha code
base for an OGPL instance. We are currently seeking pre-alpha testers and experienced open source developers to provide recommendations as additional
modules are released to the open source community. If you are interested in being part of OGPL, please contact us on the Contact Us page at
http://www.opengovplatform.org or on Twitter at @OGPL.

The solution begins with the question “Was this page helpful,” which captures the feedback from the user about the page that is displayed on the browser. This
can be easily integrated in all or desired pages as per the need. Once the data is gathered and stored in database, the data can be viewed in different views by
supervisor(s) or administrator(s). This solution can be applied to as many websites as you desire and connect to one or many database(s).
