Based on LINUX kernal.
 Android found way back in 2003.
Android was devloped by Andy Rubins,Rich
Miner,Nick Seers and Chris White in Califonia.
Android was purchased by GOOGLE in
AUGUST,2005 for 50millon$.
It is consortium of several companies.
This group of companies are only allowed to
use source code of android and develop
applications.
Reason for NOKIA not to develop android
mobiles is that NOKIA is not a part of OHA.
Android is not only a single piece of hardware.
Android supports wireless communication
using 3G,4G,Wifi networks,bluetooth
connectivity.
Android is a multi processing system in which
each process run by its own process.
Interface is better than the other touch screen
mobiles.
User gets millions of applications that user
cannot get in any other operating system.
Android BETA:
 First version of android.
Android beta will generally have
many problems in speed and performance.
Android ASTRO(1.0):First version in android.
Released on sept 23,2008.
Quite slow in operation.
Copy and paste feature in
web browser is not present.
