Description: It’s a migration project, trying to migrate the complete functionality of our
system present on mainframe to another IBM business technology called
AS400. The transactions and the thousands of batch jobs which runs on
MAINFRAME have been migrated to AS400 by our client wise. Here we are
replaced all the z/COBOL programs with ILE-COBOL on AS400, and the
screens are designed in RPG. The JCL’s are mirrored in CL language and
finally all these batch process has been scheduled on a scheduler called
ROBOT.
Responsibilities:
 Design, Coding and Testing on AS400
o Coding the migrated client programs on AS400 by using COBOL400.
o Creating the database files in DB400 which have the similar structure of DATASETS.
o Coding the CL programs to replace the JCL’s.
o Scheduling these jobs on a scheduler called ROBOT with the use of OPAL.
 Preparing the test plans and executing the same on the both the systems to ensure the integrity
of the ACCESS SYSTEM.
