The document discusses several topics related to animal welfare:
1) Relocating wild animals is often advertised as humane but can actually be detrimental to the animal, not a long term solution, and usually illegal.
2) Pets provide benefits like increased exercise, decreased stress, and companionship for many households in the US.
3) Indian housing societies cannot ban residents from keeping pets according to bye-laws, and doing so would be considered invalid and discriminatory.
4) Hitting dogs can hurt them, induce fear biting, cause behavior changes, hurt the bond, and is often misunderstood.

Levelwise PageRank with Loop-Based Dead End Handling Strategy : SHORT REPORT ...Subhajit Sahu
Abstract — Levelwise PageRank is an alternative method of PageRank computation which decomposes the input graph into a directed acyclic block-graph of strongly connected components, and processes them in topological order, one level at a time. This enables calculation for ranks in a distributed fashion without per-iteration communication, unlike the standard method where all vertices are processed in each iteration. It however comes with a precondition of the absence of dead ends in the input graph. Here, the native non-distributed performance of Levelwise PageRank was compared against Monolithic PageRank on a CPU as well as a GPU. To ensure a fair comparison, Monolithic PageRank was also performed on a graph where vertices were split by components. Results indicate that Levelwise PageRank is about as fast as Monolithic PageRank on the CPU, but quite a bit slower on the GPU. Slowdown on the GPU is likely caused by a large submission of small workloads, and expected to be non-issue when the computation is performed on massive graphs.

Data Centers - Striving Within A Narrow Range - Research Report - MCG - May 2...pchutichetpong
M Capital Group (“MCG”) expects to see demand and the changing evolution of supply, facilitated through institutional investment rotation out of offices and into work from home (“WFH”), while the ever-expanding need for data storage as global internet usage expands, with experts predicting 5.3 billion users by 2023. These market factors will be underpinned by technological changes, such as progressing cloud services and edge sites, allowing the industry to see strong expected annual growth of 13% over the next 4 years.
Whilst competitive headwinds remain, represented through the recent second bankruptcy filing of Sungard, which blames “COVID-19 and other macroeconomic trends including delayed customer spending decisions, insourcing and reductions in IT spending, energy inflation and reduction in demand for certain services”, the industry has seen key adjustments, where MCG believes that engineering cost management and technological innovation will be paramount to success.
MCG reports that the more favorable market conditions expected over the next few years, helped by the winding down of pandemic restrictions and a hybrid working environment will be driving market momentum forward. The continuous injection of capital by alternative investment firms, as well as the growing infrastructural investment from cloud service providers and social media companies, whose revenues are expected to grow over 3.6x larger by value in 2026, will likely help propel center provision and innovation. These factors paint a promising picture for the industry players that offset rising input costs and adapt to new technologies.
According to M Capital Group: “Specifically, the long-term cost-saving opportunities available from the rise of remote managing will likely aid value growth for the industry. Through margin optimization and further availability of capital for reinvestment, strong players will maintain their competitive foothold, while weaker players exit the market to balance supply and demand.”
2. Relocation of animals
• Live trapping and relocating animals is often advertised as a
humane solution to wildlife conflicts. In reality, it can actually
be detrimental for the animal, it is not a true long-term
solution, and in most cases, it is illegal.
3. Allowing pet in buildings
What is the importance of having a pet at your house?
They can increase opportunities to exercise, get outside, and
socialize.
Regular walking or playing with pets can decrease blood pressure,
cholesterol levels, and triglyceride levels.
Pets can help manage loneliness and depression by giving us
companionship.
Most households in the United States have at least one pet.
4. Keeping Pet in an Apartment
• Bye-Laws for keeping pets says that any housing society cannot ban
residents from keeping pets.
• Any sort of ban can not be implemented by society. Even any resolution
passed in the General Body meeting will be considered invalid. Any ban on
keeping pets cannot be introduced by society by amending Bye-laws for
keeping pets.
• The Sub tenants (the licensee) can have pets in their flat.
• Society cannot discriminate on the side of the pets.
• Dog barking cannot be a valid reason to impose a ban on pets.
• Having pets at home is a fundamental freedom guaranteed to the citizens of
India as per the constitution.
• keeping pets in apartment & residents owners of the pets not violating any
municipal law are permissible to stay in the housing society.
5. why we should not hit dogs
• It Hurts
• It Induces Fear Biting
• It Causes Behavior Changes
• It Hurts the Bond
• It Is Misunderstood
6. Greed for Breed
Cue the “8-week-old AKC German shepherd puppies”
classified ads. A German shepherd named Rumor won
the “Best in Show” Award at the Westminster Kennel Club
Dog Show, and breeders and puppy mills are already
preparing to churn out puppies, anxious to cash in on the
coming breed craze. They’ll even force mothers to mate
with sons and daughters with fathers, in order to ensure
that a particular trait remains in a dog’s bloodline. The
consequences can be dire: Incest increases the likelihood
that recessive genes will be expressed and that serious
congenital defects will be passed down to puppies.
8. • Protective & Loyal -
Indie dogs are very protective of their pack and families. Not
only do Indie dogs make great companion pets, but their ability
to sense danger and their fierce protective instincts also make
them very good at guarding their homes. Because of their
guarding traits and agile structure, Indie dogs have also been
known to assist a few special task forces of the Indian police.
9. • Resilient & Adaptable
Indie dogs’ tough physical attributes are a result of natural
selection. This not only makes them resilient but also less prone
to health conditions as compared to other pedigree dogs. Since
they are also native to the Indian climate, most Indie
dogs possess a short coat that makes grooming very easy as
well. With an appropriate diet, regular vaccinations and
adequate exercise, your decision of adopting an indie dog can be
a blessing for both you and your canine companion.
10. • Highly Communicative
Indie dogs are naturally intelligent and very communicative.
Once they are properly socialised, they can get along well with
other dogs as well. Their expressive nature makes sure that you
can never have a dull moment with them. Just like with every
other dog, Indie dogs have training requirements too, which can
be an important factor in making them adjust in your
home. Indie dogs’ communicative nature ensures that they can
be easily trained and their training progress can also be watched
through changes in the way they communicate and express
themselves.
11. • Promote Kindness
Breed prejudice is a real thing. The victim of this is both Indie
dogs & pedigree dogs who either face cruelty on the streets or
unethical breeding practices. India is home to around 80 million
homeless cats and dogs. Out of these, 9.1 million are stray cats,
62 million are stray dogs and around 8.8 million are in
shelters. Your decision to adopt an indie dog and not shop will
not only earn you a loving companion, but it will be a blessing
for overcrowded shelters and a step towards positive change in
the world of pet parenting.
12. Poisoning of dogs
The following symptoms may indicate that your dog has been
poisoned:
• Agitation.
• Tremors.
• Convulsions.
• Nausea and/or vomiting.
• Seizures.
• Heart problems.
• Diarrhoea.
• Kidney failure.
13. HorseRiding
The problem with constantly compressing the knees and thighs
around the horse is that these muscles can become strained.
While the adductor muscles become strong and well developed,
the abductor muscles are relatively unconditioned. This results
in imbalances in not only riding form, but in the rider’s walking
and standing pattern when not on horseback.
14. Horses overloading
• Contravention: An action which offends against a law, treaty, or other
ruling.
• Draught: An animal used for pulling heavy loads.
• Endemic: Disease that occurs in a certain place or group of people.
• Harness: A set of straps and fittings by which a horse or other draught
animal is fastened to a cart, plough, etc. and is controlled by its driver.
• Lairage: A place where animals may be rested on the way to market or
slaughter.
• Oxytocin: Hormone controlling key aspects of the reproductive system,
including birth and lactation, and aspects of animal behaviour.
• Pneumatic: Containing or operated by air or gas under pressure.
• Quarantined: Restriction on the movement of animals to prevent the
spread of disease(s).
• Repugnancy: Inconsistency or incompatibility of ideas or statements.
• Slaughter: To kill (animals) for food.
15. AGM
The Chairman briefed the Members about marked increase in
man – animal conflict in our society due to increasing number of
some species of animals and growing human population which
is emerging a big challenge for all of us. He also briefed about
the increase in number of court cases pertaining to cruelty to
animals, abuse of animals during transportation and lack of
humane slaughter in slaughter houses, which causes maximum
cruelty to animals in our country. The Chairman informed the
Members that there are only a limited numbers of SPCAs and
State Animal Welfare Boards (SAWBs) in the country that are
active and the Police force is not aware of the animal protection
laws.
