Andy Warhol was an American artist and major figure in the pop art movement known for his pop culture-inspired pieces centered on everyday American symbols like Campbell's soup cans. Between 1963-1968, Warhol made over 60 films, including the famous Sleep and Blow Job. In 1968, Warhol was shot in an assassination attempt but survived. While controversial, Warhol's pop art brought everyday objects and images into the fine art world and had a significant influence on modern art.
