Google recently rolls out Android 5.0 Lollipop - Game changer for developersTanzanite Infotech
Google recently launched Android 5.0 named Lollipop. It was announced at Google I/O, 2014 held last month. The release was limited with 5,000 API that were meant only for developers. Thus, Android app developers have enough time to explore the radical new changes in the OS as Android Lollipop shall be released for the masses in autumn this year. The event/time chosen by Google for the launch of the OS for developers and for the public release could not have been more appropriate. The latest version of Android will be available around Christmas.
Drone's were invented in the 1970s by Abraham Kareem for military use by the Israeli Air Force. Drones are now used for both military and civilian purposes such as delivery, aerial photography, and surveillance. They can be operated remotely through a control system and some drones have autonomous capabilities. Drones come in various sizes to carry different payloads and can provide benefits like reducing human exposure to risk. However, there are also disadvantages like regulatory restrictions and potential privacy and security issues.
This document discusses the use of drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles, for conservation purposes. Drones can be used to map land changes, monitor wildlife, and survey habitat areas. They provide real-time data using cameras and sensors without requiring people in remote locations. While drones have advantages over satellites like lower costs and ability to fly at low altitudes, they also have disadvantages such as noise disturbing wildlife and needing to follow FAA regulations. The document specifically discusses how drones are being used to monitor invasive algal blooms by collecting multi-spectral data on algal growth and distribution over time.

Solar power enabled mobile phones technologyMamatha Mekala
Solar powered mobile phones are able to charge using sunlight by integrating solar cells and panels. The first solar phone was invented in 2007 and had solar panels that trickle charged the battery, extending its life by 2.5 times. Solar mobile phones provide a sustainable option as they can charge in any light condition without needing electricity, making them particularly useful in rural areas. New technologies are exploring transparent, flexible solar screens built into displays to charge phones without needing separate panels.
The document discusses the design and development of quadcopter unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It describes the prototypes created, including improvements made to reduce weight and increase lift. Sensors and controllers are discussed, including sensors for position, proximity, and navigation. The final prototype achieved stable hovering with a weight of 43 grams and incorporated an inertial measurement unit, ultrasonic sensors, GPS, and radio frequency transmission for control and data transmission.
Drone technology is advancing rapidly. Drones, also known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), have evolved from early target practice drones in the early 1900s. There are two main types - military drones like the MQ-9 Reaper used for surveillance and attacks, and commercial/recreational drones like the DJI Phantom for photography. Drones operate through a ground control system where officers can monitor and control a drone's flight path and weapons payload if applicable. New innovations continue to push the boundaries with experimental drones that can both fly and function as submarines.
Drones and their Increasing Number of ApplicationsJeffrey Funk
These slides use concepts from my (Jeff Funk) course entitled analyzing hi-tech opportunities to analyze how drones are becoming economic feasible for an increasing number of applications as their costs fall. The costs of drones are falling as the costs of various ICs (controllers, GPS) and MEMS sensors rapidly fall, their performance rises (e.g., accuracy of GPS) and as the cost of carbon fibers fall at a somewhat slower pace than do ICs and MEMS. These falling costs are making drones economically feasible for a number of applications such as producing movies, TV reporting, surveillance, and delivery.

This document discusses drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It provides an introduction to UAVs, including a brief history starting from 1916. It describes the key sub-systems of UAVs including the unmanned aircraft, control system, control link and support equipment. The document discusses various design parameters and applications of UAVs, including disaster relief, search and rescue, sports and armed attacks. It also discusses UAV programs in India and compares Indian and U.S. drones. Finally, it outlines some disadvantages of UAVs such as civilian casualties and hacking risks.
The document discusses the present and future of the drone industry. It covers the commercial, military, and hobbyist markets for drones and how drones are being used for applications like delivery, agriculture, filmmaking, and more. The document predicts that commercial drone spending will reach $4.8 billion globally by 2021 and that drones will continue revolutionizing various industries through innovations in engagement, solutions to unique challenges, and new forms of advertising and events.
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a Drone, is an aircraft without a human pilot on board. UAVs can be remote controlled aircraft (e.g. flown by a pilot at a ground control station) or can fly autonomously based on pre-programmed flight plans or more complex dynamic automation systems
A UAV is defined as being capable of controlled, sustained level flight and powered by a jet or reciprocating engine. In addition, a cruise missile can be considered to be a UAV, but is treated separately on the basis that the vehicle is the weapon.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are aircrafts that fly without any humans being onboard. They are either remotely piloted, or piloted by an onboard computer. This kind of aircrafts can be used in different military missions such as surveillance, reconnaissance, battle damage assessment, communications relay, minesweeping, hazardous substances detection and radar jamming. However they can be used in other than military missions like detection of hazardous objects on train rails and investigation of infected areas. Aircrafts that are able of hovering and vertical flying can also be used for indoor missions like counter terrorist operations

The UI5 tooling is the development and build tooling of UI5. It is built in a modular and extensible way so that it can be easily extended by your needs. This session will showcase various tooling extensions which can boost your development experience by far so that you can really work offline, transpile your code in your project to use even newer versions of EcmaScript (than 2022 which is supported right now by the UI5 tooling), consume any npm package of your choice in your project, using different kind of proxies, and even stitching UI5 projects during development together to mimic your target environment.
Preparing Non - Technical Founders for Engaging a Tech AgencyISH Technologies
Preparing non-technical founders before engaging a tech agency is crucial for the success of their projects. It starts with clearly defining their vision and goals, conducting thorough market research, and gaining a basic understanding of relevant technologies. Setting realistic expectations and preparing a detailed project brief are essential steps. Founders should select a tech agency with a proven track record and establish clear communication channels. Additionally, addressing legal and contractual considerations and planning for post-launch support are vital to ensure a smooth and successful collaboration. This preparation empowers non-technical founders to effectively communicate their needs and work seamlessly with their chosen tech agency.Visit our site to get more details about this. Measures in SQL (SIGMOD 2024, Santiago, Chile)Julian Hyde
SQL has attained widespread adoption, but Business Intelligence tools still use their own higher level languages based upon a multidimensional paradigm. Composable calculations are what is missing from SQL, and we propose a new kind of column, called a measure, that attaches a calculation to a table. Like regular tables, tables with measures are composable and closed when used in queries.
SQL-with-measures has the power, conciseness and reusability of multidimensional languages but retains SQL semantics. Measure invocations can be expanded in place to simple, clear SQL.
To define the evaluation semantics for measures, we introduce context-sensitive expressions (a way to evaluate multidimensional expressions that is consistent with existing SQL semantics), a concept called evaluation context, and several operations for setting and modifying the evaluation context.
