Corruption has become a cultural problem in Indonesia for several reasons. Most Indonesians and foreigners acknowledge that corruption occurs throughout the government in areas like healthcare, education, and banking. Efforts to eliminate corruption have been weak, and corruption now happens even within law enforcement and the courts. Citizens also enable corruption by willingly breaking rules and bribing officers to avoid penalties. Unless Indonesians work together to curb corruption through discipline, accountability, and consequences for corrupt officials, it will continue damaging the country's future.

The court ultimately did not issue the mandamus, finding the matter fell within police powers as long as their investigation complied with law.
Constitutionalism as an instrument for transformationSABC News
President Nelson Mandela said “I am not a saint, unless you think of a saint as a sinner who keeps on trying. Meaning that he too could and did err. None of us should therefore make a disingenuous attempt to undermine his hitherto unmatched leadership credentials on the basis that he erred in one or other respect, as if he ever held himself out as immune to error. And none of whatever errors he might have made can in the very least detract from the profundity of his contribution to the essence of practical ethical and selfless leadership. Generations to come, who genuinely care about fellow human beings will ceaselessly drink from Madiba’s well of wisdom-laden and ethical leadership.

They urged amendments to require disclosure of all donations and prevent ways to conceal donors. The ruling and bill are important for media freedom and democratic accountability in South Africa.

India is considered a safe haven for criminals due to widespread corruption, a backlogged judicial system, and the presence of criminals in politics. The country's laws are often not enforced strictly, and criminals can easily avoid punishment through delays, appeals, and political influence. As a result, crimes like murder, kidnapping, robbery and terrorism are regularly committed with little consequence to the perpetrators. Reform is needed to strengthen law enforcement, speed up the judicial process and keep criminals out of elected office to make India less safe for criminal activities.

Recent years have seen a disturbing rise in violence, discrimination, and intolerance against Christian communities in various Islamic countries. This multifaceted challenge, deeply rooted in historical, social, and political animosities, demands urgent attention. Despite the escalating persecution, substantial support from the Western world remains lacking.

Anc jhb statement on the march to ennerdale saps

AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS
GREATER JOHANNESBURG REGION
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
13 NOVEMBER 2020
ANC GREATER JOHANNESBURG STATEMENT ON THE COMMUNITY MARCH TO
ENNERDALE POLICE STATION
The ANC in Greater Johannesburg supports the march by the communities of Ennerdale, Finetown,
and Lawley calling on law enforcement officers to act against crime and criminals in that area.
The ANC believes that crime robs the people of these areas of the hard-fought freedom of movement
and their basic human rights to safety and security as enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic
of South Africa and in the foundational document of our movement, the Freedom Charter.
Section 205 (3) of the Constitution places an obligation on the police service to prevent, combat and
investigate crime, to maintain public order, to protect and secure the inhabitants of the Republic and
their property, and to uphold and enforce the law.
The promise in the Freedom Charter that all shall be equal before the law must be understood to
mean that the rights of those affected by criminal acts must be protected and lawbreakers arrested,
charged, and if convicted sent to prison.
As the ANC we cannot accept that our people should be subjected to terrorism by criminals, they
should be able to decide for themselves where and when they can move freely in their communities.
For as long as criminals are allowed to roam the streets freely, the promise in the Freedom Charter
that “All people shall have the right to live where they choose, to be decently housed, and to bring
up their families in comfort and security” remains undermined and unfulfilled.
The ANC is further heartened by the efforts of these communities to work with law enforcement and
within the confines of the law to fight against crime. We appeal to law enforcement agencies to work
with communities in this regard as this is the only guarantee against vigilantism and taking the law
into our own hands.
It is for these reasons that the ANC is fully behind the march which is taking place on the 14th
November 2020 and calls on the leadership of the SAPS in Johannesburg to pay attention and respond
positively to the legitimate demands of the people of Ennerdale, Finetown, and Lawley.
