research on reducing the incidence of cancer in the
United States and other countries.
● A recent study supported by the organization found that
more leisure time spent sitting results in a higher risk of
breast and ovarian cancer, as well as multiple myeloma,
in women.
● Published in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and
Prevention, the study controlled for physical activity,
body mass index, and several other relevant factors.

spent sitting in recent decades. These increases
are linked to technological advancements, as well
