displays information about pollen levels is a considerable improvement in their lives and in their daily activities.
AlertaPolen is a free application for mobile phones, developed by Inycom for AstraZeneca and the Spanish Allergy and Clinic Immunology
Society (SEAIC), who provide the information about index levels of pollen that most commonly affects allergic people.
Thanks to ‘AlertaPolen’ patients are informed of the existing amount of pollen and, most importantly, the risks they are facing depending
on exposure levels in the area. In words of Dr. Francisco Feo Brito, coordinator of the Aerobiology Committee in SEAIC, AlertaPolen is
an innovative application that “will mean a before and an after in the pollen concentration information, since receiving all this data is
made simple.”

Customizable application
AlertaPolen can be customized according to the interests of the
user. It’s very for allergy sufferers because it informs them about
the concentration levels of different types of pollen in those
locations that are of interest. In addition when a certain type of
pollen alert thresholds are exceeded, the patient immediately
receives an alarm advising of the risk in the city they are or have
interest in.
To do this, the application allows the user parameterise the type
of pollen and identify each one with the name (common and
scientific) of the family to which it belongs:
