Chip is a rock that begins its journey in the mountains. During a bad storm, Chip gets broken off the mountain in a landslide and flows down the mountain with water from the storm. As Chip travels downstream in the river, it bangs against other rocks and gets smoothed and worn down from the abrasion. By the end of its journey, Chip has been worn down so much by the river that it has transformed into a grain of sand.
