Action movie history
Involved two supposed hero’s which where challenged with
obstacles and puzzles to achieve there goal. Normally a big build up
for a fall but overall wins and beats the obstacles and puzzles and
villains.
Action movies when they were first made where Weston or sword
fights but kept it modern as much as it was in its time or even
sometimes just ahead of time which would bring in a large audience.
Errol Flynn done all of the starting action movies like robin hood,
captin blood and many others which all had some type of violence or
fighting and there was always a damsel in distress which needed to
be saved and Action movies all include love within the movies.

Action Movie History
Action genera first started in 1920s which where based on Weston times style or adventure type movies. Over time the genera development and
brooded out till we got to 1960’s where the first James Bond was created and this opened up a whole new style of action making a single man be the
hero and still get the girl. I t was a great twist which then inspired writers to also consider and think of new types of secret agent and betrayal type
films. Action movies made its main hit and made ‘action’ action was in the 1980’s where all the modern day classics which we all love were created e.g.
Star Wars and Robocop plus much more. Action movies are most known for are Star Wars, Averter, Robo Cop , Batman , 300, true blood and much
more but these films stood out because all the individual story lines which draw the viewers in , it’s also due to the unique base type film the ‘unseen’
which especially draws viewers in.
Actors who are especially known to be stars or really good in action movies would be people like Daniel Craig or Arnold Schwarzenegger as they are
best known for James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger)
1920-1930’s
- This was the start of the Action genera Douglas Fairbacks was the main man for action movies in the start of the genre doing the classics like Robin
Hood and The Mark Of Zorro.
- 1940-1950’s
- - This is where Cowboy movies lifted off and where most popular or became popular. A well known and popular film created then was called Red
River , which was based off a man running his castle to a river and his step son betrays him and turns on him. This movie back then was the big
liner as it was very unique and had well known/ liked actors back then.
- 1960
- - This was the times where the James Bond legacy started staring Sean Connery who was loved in his time for being James Bond which was an
amazing hit and is also a modern day favourite also with there newer films.
- 1970
- - A new film hit the scene which was a big success because it was also based off the successful James Bond hit in 1960’s which was huge so I
believe this film was successful as it was very similar to James Bond. The movie was more of an martial arts based film which linked into Asian type
as that’s the style they fight , its also very fast movement which is another reason why this film was such a big success.
- 1980
- - This is where Action movies hit blockbusters with 48hrs which featured Eddie murphy and Nick notle who where two very well known and
popular actors.
- 1990
- - This was the year spy or urban style action movies were created and most enjoyed e.g. the start of the batman series Batman Returns which is a
huge hit and Batman in modern day is still loved.
- 1990-2002
- Mainly spy based movies against corrupted government for example the matrix or Bourne identity
- 2002 + (Modern Day)
- Action movies are currently all of the above there isn't a particular set apart from maybe corrupt government and a one man hero against the
world.
My action movie
My action movie will consist of having violence running scene and
arrgesive culture it will involve a violent man causing mayhem and
a hero who is trying to prevent the villain from harming any more
poor people who are venerable to him. As the hero he has to pass
obstacles placed by the villains and others where as the villain is
always working jumping through hoops trying to stay ahead of the
hero.
