Ø Born in Sutton in Surrey, South-East England (1955).
Ø Grew up on Wentworth Private Estate near Windsor and Ascot.
Ø Attended Bigshotte Rayles private preparatory school at age 7 (1962-1968).
Ø Attended Cranleigh, a top U.K. private boarding school (1968-1973).
Ø Hitched hiked through Europe at age 14: eight countries in 6 weeks (1968).
Ø Lived in Australia for a year, taking a variety of fascinating jobs; shark-spotter, miner, road-
builder, waiter, deckhand on a pearl lugger, mate on a shark fishing boat, jackaroo on a sheep
farm, wrangler on a cattle ranch; journeyed with an Aborigine for a week to learn to live off the
land (1973-4).
Ø Attended Edinburgh University in Scotland for 4 years, MA Honors in Sociology (1974-1978).
Ø Survived a car crash on the Grande Corniche in Provence, France, very similar to that which
killed Princess Grace of Monaco (1978).
Ø Ranked in Top 10 in real estate sales for Mann Countrywide, Europe's largest real estate
company (1979).
Ø Branch Manager for Mann Countrywide in East Horsley, Surrey, after 7 months (1979).
Ø Co-founded and operated Sea Sports & Safaris in Kenya, outfitting & guiding safaris (1979).
Ø Survived the shipwreck of a 27-foot catamaran in the Indian Ocean, with a 6-mile swim.
Ø Encountered Watta tribe in Kenya's Tana Delta: they had no prior contact with white people.
Ø Made first recorded sighting of Wilson's Storm Petrel in Kenya (1979).
Ø Co-founded Adventure Associates in Kenya, outfitting and guiding photographic safaris.
Ø Hosted Arab Sheikhs, American celebrities and European aristocracy on African safaris.
Ø Tracked a wounded lion in high grass; treed by elephant, rhino & Cape buffalo; charged by
silverback gorilla; menaced in rivers by crocodiles and hippo; stalked by hyena and wild dog.
Ø Founded Safari Consultants in in London, U.K. for custom-planned safaris throughout Africa
(1980).
Ø Re-created author Peter Matthiessen’s 1979 Sand Rivers safari in Tanzania’s remote Selous
Game Reserve with legendary guide Richard Bonham (1986); 28 porters each carrying 60-
pound loads on their heads. Walked 12 miles a day and slept in the open: an old-time
adventure safari expedition. Hosted five clients, one of whom became my wonderful wife,
Jackie, in 1994.
Ø Sold Safari Consultants and moved to the U.S. (1987).
Ø Founded Safari Consultants of London USA in Metairie, LA (1987).
Ø Relocated to Bonita Springs in SW Florida (2003).
Ø Appointed La Scala luxury tower Condominium Board President (2005-2010).
Ø Creator and writer of over 45 issues of the quarterly La Scala newsletter (2005-present).
Ø Award-winning Certified Luxury Collection Realtor® in SW Florida since 2003.
Ø Nearly 40 years of experience in custom-planning and organizing luxury African Safaris.
Ø Senior Editor at Anthem Vault (2012-present).
Ø Social Media Director at Anthem Vault (2012-2016).
Ø Director of Sales at Anthem Vault (2012-2016).
Ø Director of Sales at Anthem Vault Professional (2016).
