All people desire happiness but it is elusive. Positive psychology studies what makes people happy, such as feelings of safety, love, compassion, gratitude and mindfulness. While happiness is our goal, traps exist within our brains that evolved for survival, not happiness. Our brains can be trained through practices like mindfulness, gratitude, empathy, compassion, and self-compassion to overcome these traps and increase well-being. Mindfulness meditation in particular helps quiet the wandering mind and become less reactive to negative thoughts and emotions.

Drawing on the experience of the last 5 year Capital Program (AMP5) this presentation will outline the systematic approach being developed by United Utilities to support the re-use of knowledge across projects that will deliver benefits across the whole asset lifecycle.
Principles of Good Governance

Developing an asset requires determining feasibility through legal/financial considerations and business planning. Communities can access resources and funding to help acquire and sustainably manage local assets.

The plan for Years 2-5 involves continued improvements such as sign-in capabilities, as well as launching secret initiatives and upgrading platforms. Digital innovation projects experimenting with emerging technologies also aim to improve the user experience and engagement.

- It would help retain expertise, build community resilience, and maximize services for clients.
- Staff costs are the biggest expense. The enterprise aims to be financially sustainable and possibly make a surplus to help other agencies.
- Next steps include finalizing the ABS application, setting up operations, and launching the social enterprise. Success would mean clients value and recommend

I’m always eager to talk about how agile workplace strategies are good for people, planet and profits, but I was particularly delighted to be asked to focus on the employee side of the equation today. It seems in many cases, they are the afterthought—what organizations are forced to think about once they start to run up against resistance to the new workplace programs.
Hopefully, this conversation will lead us toward being more mindful of the fact that new workplace strategies won’t work if the employees are not on board.

Teeny Tiny Summits were initiated in 2016 by Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, as a forum to discuss scale-appropriate economic development strategies for Ontario’s smallest communities. In 2017, ROMA committed to multi-year support of the Teeny Tiny program. Teeny Tiny Summits share practical examples, lessons learned and community economic development tactics. Since inception, the summits have been hosted in every region of the province and attracted over 2,250 attendees both in person and virtually.
Planning for community economic development activities can help you realize your community’s vision. It allows for strategic use of the resources you have available and provides you with a clear path on how to accomplish your identified goals. A community-driven strategic planning process relies on partnerships, commitment, and community assets all coming together to provide a clear and achievable path to SUCCESS!
