LeadershipDevelopment: Coaching Leaders toBecome Transformational Using
the MBTI Stan Truskie (ENFJ)
This session will describe how a proven leadership model can be used in conjunction with the
MBTI in coaching leaders to become transformational in shaping an organization culture that
enhances organizational effectiveness and improves organizational performance.
Stan Truskie, Ph.D. is an international executive coach and Professor of Organizational
Leadership at Nova Southeastern University. Stan will use key points from his vast experience
and book, Leadership in High-Performance Organizational Cultures, Second Edition, 2010. Stan
conducted a one-hour webinar on this topic sponsored by Consulting Psychological Press (CPP)
on February 10, 2011, and a record number of participants (over 1300) registered for the
webinar. Many who participated were ABT members and expressed interest in an expanded
follow-up version of the webinar.
This expanded session will describe how the middle paired functions of the MBTI (ST, SF, NT
and NF) play an important part in influencing a leader’s preference for a particular cultural
pattern, many times at the expense of overlooking positive elements of others. Highly favoring
a particular cultural pattern can create an unbalanced organizational culture resulting in
diminished organizational effectiveness and underperformance. Stan will present examples,
case studies, and his coaching approach to helping leaders transform self first, then adapting
behaviors and implementing actions to transform their organization’s culture. Don’t miss this
exciting and proactive session if you are involved in coaching and/or training leaders.
