Kerry Jones, the director of capital planning and construction at Immaculata University, likens his flexible housing solution to address the school's housing crunch to the innovative playing style of the university's 1970s women's basketball team, known as the Mighty Macs. Jones is developing apartment-style housing in phases to accommodate growing enrollment within the university's limited budget. The first phase included two apartment-style buildings with six apartments each that have private bedrooms, kitchens, and furnishings. The university hopes this new housing model will encourage more students to stay on campus on evenings and weekends to take full advantage of the college experience.
