education with the goal of optimising patient care and outcomes. By using the latest technologies,
ecancer works closely with leading figures in oncology to inform and educate the global cancer
community.
• The channel was set up by Prof McVie and Prof Veronesi in 2007 with initial funding from ECCO
(European Cancer Organisation), The European Institute of Oncology Foundation, The Umberto
Veronesi Foundation and Swiss Bridge
• ecancer provides a free service to oncologists including: expert videos, news, education, OA
journal (no fees or subscription)
• The journal ecancermedicalscience is indexed in PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Google Scholar and
charges no fees for publishing or reading
• The site receives 40,000 visitors a month from 191 countries
• Over 1,300 expert videos on the site
• Videos watched over 1.5 million times since launch
