Work Experience
Diesel/Automotive Mechanic
8/2009-Present Idaho State University Transportation Department
 Maintain, diagnose and repair fleet of heavy travel busses used by the University
for transporting athletic teams, bands and students to regional tournaments.
Perform all routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of busses and other
vehicles used by the University, including overhauls of the power plant, drive train,
and pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Maintain accurate records of all
maintenance and repairs, as well as timekeeping. Have a current Commercial
Drivers License which I use to operate the travel busses on out of state trips.
Diesel Mechanic
2/2001 – 8/2009 School District Number Twenty-Five, Pocatello, Idaho
 Maintain and repair fleet of School District vehicles. Vehicles range from passenger
cars to large trucks, heavy equipment, and diesel busses. Perform routine
maintenance, through major overhauls of the power plant and drive train
components. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
Also perform body work and painting of damaged vehicles. Obtained additional
endorsements to Class B Commercial Drivers License.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic
1/2001 - 3/2001 Pioneer Equipment Company, American Falls, Idaho
 Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on
construction and farm equipment and implements. Work with engine, drive train,
electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems. Use blueprints and schematics to
diagnose problems and repair in an efficient and timely manner. Left to pursue job
with School District #25.
Diesel Locomotive Mechanic, Heavy Work Equipment Mechanic,
Machinist
6/1992 - 3/1999 Union Pacific Rail Road, Omaha, Nebraska
 Work with and supervise/train apprentice equipment mechanics. Maintain and repair
diesel track equipment. Work with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Use blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot complex problems associated with
complex equipment such as Jackson Tampers, Track alignment equipment and In-
Track Welding equipment. Maintain and repair all types of cranes, attended crane
training school. Attended several manufacturers’ schools on the repair of complex
systems. Attended Delta training for managing/teaching of employees. Attended
and graduated from advanced course on welding. Repair and maintain Diesel

mechanical work. Diagnose irrigation pump problems, pull pumps, tear-down and
repair or replace parts in the field. Train/supervise apprentices, and new-hires on
pump work. Maintain and perform repairs on all company’s vehicles including
passenger cars and trucks, heavy equipment, diesel trucks, and pump pulling
equipment. Assemble irrigation pivots, repair farm implements. Obtained a Class B
CDL, drove truck in downtime, until company closure.
Education
• SLC Community College, Salt Lake City, Utah. Advanced welding.

• School District #25: Have attended several Bus/Fleet Maintenance schools.
• Union Pacific Rail Road: Employee relations/management course which was
located in Cheyenne Wyoming Community College.
Received extensive training on the troubleshooting, repair and serve and
maintenance of all types of Gantry and Mobile cranes. Experience and
knowledge in straddle carrier, gearbox repair, bearing replacement, coupling
and shaft alignment, hydraulics, structural welding, metal cutting, brake
adjustments, lubrication, rigging and load testing.
Attended training classes regarding the operation, diagnosis, repair and
maintenance of diesel locomotives. Attended numerous safety foundation/DOT
classes. Attended machinist classes.
• United States Navy: Aviation Ordinance School.
Pinedale High school, Pinedale, Wyoming. Participated in Football, Basketball,
Track, Stage Band and Concert band. Received State Musicianship Award as
well as several Presidential Physical Fitness Awards. Enrolled in the United
States Navy upon graduation.
