4. OVERVIEW
✓ At least 1.9 million* Americans are of Arab
descent, adjusted total: 3,665,789
✓ Education: Over 89% of Arab Americans over 25
have obtained at least a high school diploma. More
than 45% have a bachelor’s degree or
higher, compared to 28% of Americans at large.
18% of Arab Americans have a postgraduate
degree, which is nearly twice the American average
(10%).
✓ Labor: Similar to the national average, about 60%
of Arab American adults are in the labor force; with
5% unemployed. 73% percent of working Arab
Americans are employed in
managerial, professional, sales or administrative
fields.
✓ Most Arab Americans work in the private sector
(79%), while 12% are government employees.
✓ Financial: Median income for Arab American
households is $59,012 compared to a median
income of $52,029 for all households in the United
States.

Programs” is one of the signature
programs of AALIF, which serves
to the mission of AALIF in many
ways, like:

for the youth during summer
✓ Enriching their resume

Arab American youth together to

PROGRAMS
8. INTERNATIONAL SUMMER
INTERNSHIP
✓ “International Summer Internship” programs serve
the main mission of AALIF by bringing the Arab
American youth of different cultural and religious
backgrounds together to understand one
another, assist to build a professional character
and network, investigate their potential and
interest, and expose the business and social
culture of different countries.
✓ International Summer Internship programs are
three-week internship programs and the
internships are full-time (40 hours per week)
✓ These programs are available in the fields of
Business & Finance, Media &
Journalism, Security/Criminal Justice &
Governance, Health & Medicine, and Education &
Architecture
✓ There are mainly two types of internships: Regular
Internship and Internship Loop
9. TEACH & TRAVEL✓ “Teach & Travel” program serves the main
mission of AALIF by bringing Arab American
youth of different cultural and religious
backgrounds together to understand one
another, assisting them to build a
professional character and
network, enriching their resumes with a
teaching and leadership experience, and
building their self-confidence on professional
achievement.
✓ There will be groups of 15, divided according
to years and their knowledge level
✓ The lessons will be conducted in formal or
informal environments, closed classrooms or
open environments
✓ There will be books and audio-visual
documents provided, according to the level
of the participants
✓ There will be a priority given to high-school
students, especially the ones in senior year
10. ✓ “Intensive Study Abroad” program serves the
main mission of AALIF by bringing Arab American
youth of different cultural and religious
backgrounds together to understand one
another, introducing their own cultural and
religious resources, assisting them to build a
character of peace, filling the potential gaps of
knowledge, enriching their transcript with college
credits, and networking.
✓ Intensive study abroad program consists of a
college course designed for the needs of the Arab
American youth.
✓ The classes will be offered by a partner university
abroad.
✓ Courses consists of 10 topics common for all
Abrahamic religions, and a final project.
✓ There will be 5 hours daily class work for 10 days.
