I wrote this when my friend told me she didn't like herself. All I could do was comfort her and write this so I could feel like I wasn't all that helpless. It cheered her up considerably.

1. A World of Glass
Lara Solis
through the window she saw the world,
and the world stared back.
the world saw its reflection,
and in fear, looked away.
the girl in disappointment, lowered her face,
thinking the fear was of herself.
the world looked for other mirrors,
where its reflection would be easier to look at.
the girl looked for someone that would stare back,
but she knew, that there was no one.
in the search for finding someone else,
they found each other,
same window.
this time,
the world looked at the girl,
and the girl looked at herself.
and just as they had both found what they wanted,
the window, and all its enchantment, shattered,

2. leaving them with nothing,
but a sheet of plain air.
