The governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, delivered remarks at the official commissioning of the new Dangote Cement Depot in Ado-Ekiti on October 15, 2011. He commended Aliko Dangote and the Dangote Group for executing the project in partnership with the Ekiti State Government. The cement depot will boost commercial activities by serving as a distribution hub for customers in northern and central Nigeria, who will no longer need to travel to Lagos to obtain cement. It is a profound joy for me to be here today for commissioning of the
DANGOTE CEMENT DEPOT, a project executed by Dangote Group of
Companies in partnership with the Ekiti State Government.
I want to commend the President of this conglomerate, Alhaji Aliko
Dangote as well as the Board and the management team for the laudable
project. The realization of this dream is a big boost to the agenda of this
government in fast-tracking the industrial revolution of the State.
It is worthy of note to point out that the Dangote Cement Depot will be to
the benefit of all and sundry who are in cement business and the end-
users. This will no doubt change the landscape of socio-economic
development of our State.
Our expectation is high that this Depot will boost commercial activities as
it will serve as a hub and distribution centre for customers from the North
and Middle Belt who would no longer need to travel to Lagos any more as

they would get their products here at same price or even at
cheaper prices.
I am convinced that the siting of the Depot here in Ekiti will among other
things create a lot of job opportunities and employment for our teaming
Youths. In the process there will be much of creating wealth for the
populace.
I assure the Dangote Group of Companies of the State Government’s
continuous support in its quest to promote and enhance rapid economic,
industrial and human capacity development of the State.
It is on this note that I wish to commission this Cement Depot to the glory
of God and use of mankind.
