1) Thomas Heatherwick faints after being visited by Smurfs at his door and wakes up in Smurf Village. He agrees to help Handy design a new hut that allows Handy and his love Marina, a mermaid, to live together.
2) Heatherwick believes all design is connected and likes to work collaboratively. He proposes creating experiments to test ideas before building full scale. Handy, Grouchy, and Heatherwick analyze paintings of the village to start planning.
3) Over dinner, Grouchy questions human customs while Heatherwick discusses using available resources creatively. He is interested in the fabric of Smurf hats and how materials can be shaped to fall naturally.
