Meting with MEP Mariela Baeva, ECON Committee
Subject:
Mrs Baeva will discuss the working of the EP as seen through the prism of a
member of the EP, and more importantly through the prism of a member from a
new Member State. She will focus on the opportunities and challenges that an
MEP faces in their practical work in committees and political groups.
With a view to the interests of the audience, Mrs Baeva will share her views on
the current financial crises and the latest developments in the context of energy
and climate change package as discussed and negotiated within the EP
committees, in a trialogue, in plenary. Mrs Baeva will also focus the attention on
the regular monetary dialogues with the president of the ECB, Mr. Trichet, and
the ongoing financial and economic turmoil.
Moreover, with consideration to the objectives of the International Association of
Business and Parliament, Mrs Baeva will share with the audience about her past
experience in initiatives aiming to establish a liaison between business and
parliament under the previous European Scheme.
