2. An establishing shot has been used at the beginning of
the opening sequence to set the scene of the film and to
show the audience that it is going to be a very dark film.
3. The 6 shots below show a montage shot of the establishing shot shown in
the first slide, by these shots we can see that the place looks very creepy
and run down because of the low key lighting used in all of the clips.
4. A tracking shot is used of a dark corridor with flickering lights making the
scene feel eerie. Also to scare the audience the sound of the lights and foot
steps are used. Footstep sounds are a very typical convention as it makes
the audience think.
5. A crane shot has been used in this scene to show the vulnerable
girl as the lightning flickers outside it makes it more and more
creepy.
6. A close up shot has been used to show the young girl
being strangled which is a way of torture, a very typical
convention of a horror.
7. Special effects have been used in the shot which is a picture of a
woman getting treated, which links to the film. Also the
costume the person is wearing is a good convention of a horror.
8. Again, on this shot the shattered glass is special effects and
showing a picture of a young girl which looks distressed.
9. An establishing shot has been used to show the location of the
film and when it is set because the location looks run down its
makes the audience think another typical convention of a horror.
10. A tracking shot has been used to show the
surroundings, then the police car that drives past. As soon as
she sees the police car she runs away.
