This document provides a summary of activities at The Summit Foundation in Cambodia from July to September 2013. It describes educational, sports, and cultural activities for children as well as humanitarian outreach events in local communities led by scholars and youth leaders. These included cleaning at a high school, distributing supplies at a primary school, and assisting an elderly woman who had lost all five of her children. The document also outlines staff development programs including English classes and leadership training.

taught the kids how to simply enjoy
each other company by sharing pop-
corn, boiled potatoes, watched educa-
tional movies and laughed together as

2. Bon Phcum Ben (Commemoration
Day) it is one of the most celebrated
events of the Khmer people mainle
here in Cambodia. People believe in
the living spirits of their passed loved
ones that have passed to another place
is returning to the temple and look for
food and other necessities. Believers
prepare food and others necessities
things to offer to Buddhist Monks to
use in their names. Our kids enjoyed
the 4 a.m. blessings for the unfortu-
nates (Brats). It was a new experience
for me.

they won a few competitions with
the other players and often asked
to challenge other teams. It feels
good to watch them, they could be
professional soccer players even
though they admired other team in
YouTube. Right: Girls played
volleyball and soccer. It was a
great exercise and therapeutic for
all of us. It was challenging but it
energized and brought us closer as
a team and as one. We, the girls
enjoyed watching most of the
time.

SF Classes
Kids are taking computer classes:
Microsoft Words and Typing Prac-
tices; Reading and writing Korean.
Guitar and English individual tutor
with staff and volunteers. Sports
and exercises are our 6H Sharpen
the Saw. Some of our older kids are
taking a little more serious with
exercise such as lifting weight. They
are looking great. Yoga classes help
ensure younger kids and light exer-
cise for Seangmai due to her heart
condition. They love getting up
early and ready for school. Everyone
enjoys with all of our educational
fun and games that we are having
here. Some times teenagers are
experiencing their Ups and Downs
are the normality.

graduates had fundraised and
purchased trash bins to donate
to Sereipheap High in Kan dal
Province. Scholars, staff, stu-
dents and faculty helped with
the school clean up. It was the
first opening school day and
the principal (Chea Peng in

the support and help out for
his school. He was initiating
his school to clean up and also
to plant some flowers to beau-

Our center had the honor
and pleasure to received a
little blessing dance and a
show from a dance instruc-
tor and performer Sokeo
Ros from the Everett Dance
Theater, Prov. RI. He vis-
ited and taught us dancing
and kickboxing. He was
funded by Tiny Tunes to
teach the kids here in PP at
the Tiny Tunes School, right
near our office for two
weeks. Our kids in return,
had performed the blessing
dance to him. Everyone was
very pleased! Sokeo enjoys
spending time in between his
classes with our staff and the
kids. Sokeo was talented and
full of energy. We had learned
some of the dancing steps. He
was not shy to show off his
dancing skills. He did it the
first minutes he visited our
center. He knocked us off our
feet and our jaws were
dropped. We wanted more
shows. He regretted for the
short time here in Cambodia
but will revisit in the near fu-
ture.

4. The yoga and other exercise
classes have extended/shared with
our neighbors and friends. The
kids have been taking yoga classes
daily. We have been trying other
team building, energetic exercises,
games and fun activities. Bikram
Yoga, The 5 Tibetan Rites and
Hatha Yoga classes have been
practiced to help us with different
breathing techniques and stretch-
ing our muscles. I remember
Producer Jim concerns about the
breathing. We do it everyday.
The silence meditation/deep re-
laxation helps us. Deep relation at
the end of the practice help the
kids calmed.
We are tak-
ing the lead-
ership trainings to a deeper level. They
are utilizing the techniques and the posi-
tive advise that Sean/ Steve Covey and
Laurie Beth Jones had instructed in the
books. We are spending quality time
learning so that we reach our highest po-
tential in teaching and leading others.

Staff has been improving

through their reports and
other documents. They have
been enjoying taking classes
with me. They get special
treats for speaking English to
me and they would be
charged if not, speaking Eng-
lish to me. They .take little
surprise quizzes for each
lesson learned. Here they
were taking a test on The 8

Dreams from “Jesus Career
They are rewriting their Vi-
sion Statement and also mak-
ing their own vision board
and write in their gratitude
journals, the 5 things they are
grateful for everyday. They
have been reading different
leadership to give them
strength and sharpen their
mind. I have been reading
Paul Cauelo to them also.
They loved it when I trans-
lated!.

by our Humanitarian event at
Wat Thnout in July has lead
him passionately to take ac-
tion representing his team and
school. He initiated us and
the scholars to join him hand
in hand to clean up his school
for the first project for his
team (Phjos Yovijon). Al-
most every single graduates
from his class from
Sereipheeap High came. “We
need to take action for our
school, community and coun-
try now.”

principal with the number of
participants including his stu-
dents that were going to help
us clean up. Many students
helped. We encouraged them.

6. Scholars are doing well in
school. They have brought in
their marks report/transcript.
They have been very active in
initiating staff and friends in
leading the humanitarian
events and other community
services such as traffic safety,
tree planting, health education
and nutrition etc.. They have
fundraised, paid medical bills
and bought food, supplies and
necessities to donate to stu-
dents, community members
and elders. They are very pas-
sionate in serving others.

Wat Thnout Primary School
was very fortunate. We do-
nated over 120 hygiene and
school supplies. We demon-
strated how to walk to school
safely, properly brushing their
teeth and how to keep washing
their hands with soap. The
principal was very please with
the participation and the ac
curate answers/responses from
his students to our test after
each demo. The crowd were so
energetic and cheerful inter-
acted with our demonstrators.
We were impressed of their
participations. Everyone had
snacks and water .

Story
Lokyeay Po is 85 yr. old currently living
in Takhmao, Kandal Province near our
Scholar Saing Sochea. He had asked his
friends to help her with food, and medi-
cal needs. He encouraged others to help
out as well. I went on a mission with
him and carry her to the hospital for her
TB treatment. She has been living alone
but a grandson Somphors recently came
to live with her because his mother
passed. The hospital is keeping her for
the treatment for a month or so. Som-
phors would like to study English and I
encouraged him to pursue it after
grandmother go back home.
