Trauma Services at
St. Rita’s Medical Center
An ACS verified level II trauma center
At St. Rita’s Medical Center, we’re proud to serve our community as a Level II Trauma Center, as verified through the American
College of Surgeons, Committee on Trauma (ACS COT).
Our multidisciplinary, specialized trauma department staff are trained to identify and stabilize life-threatening injuries, starting
within minutes from notification of the injured patient’s arrival — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In 2015, we evaluated and
treated over 940 patients, with injuries ranging in severity, cause and type.
Continuous quality improvement and education are key to the ever-changing world of emergency treatments. To help ensure
our patients receive the best care, our surgeons, physicians and providers meet regularly to review cases and stay current on
new treatment methodologies, and we provide continuing education programs and outreach to EMS agencies and medical
personnel in our region. We also educate the public on injury prevention and awareness.
Thank you for allowing us to provide excellent care to our immediate and surrounding communities. Please feel free to contact
our Trauma Services department with any questions you may have at 419-996-5050.

2015 Trauma Center data
Our trauma registry provides valuable resources for studying outcomes, redefining injury management and looking for ways to
improve care throughout our trauma program. The registry also studies the cause of trauma so we can help our patients
prevent injuries.
